And the English Longbowmen defeated the French Knights in France, when they were in the top of a hill, and thus they either had more range, the arrows would get there faster (gravity), and the French horses would get more tired and get there slower.

In a plain territory, the longbowmen would be completly decimated by the Knights.
i dont think it was knights on horseback...

but it was durring the time when if you bagged a lord you could make a ransom and sell him back for OODLES of cash! some even made this their life! haha, thats great...pillaging for a living...

They also got some nice weapons and armor from the knights too. Thats about the only way a normal infantry man got the good stuff.

Knights were mounted warriors, it was a social status. If you were good enough of a warrior to be ordered a knight, you'd get a horse as well. Then you had the Cavaliers and Paladins, higher ranks of knights.

Anyone that could afford a horse could use on. Its not a thing only knights could do.

But an horse was too expensive to be bought by any peasent. You were either a Lord, or a Knight. There was basicly no other way, no one had enough money. At least, in medieval times.

i really think that the eurpean army would have killed the japan's troops. now unknown to most people there were a lot of Samurais who did not want to fight and thus many just hide until the battle of over. european troops had a much brouder range of weapons and very think armor. but it kinda depends on the location of the battle, i mean if you fought them on japan or something a few Samurai archers could be hiding under tall grass and wait until they come. the Samurai are great warriors but the armor is very light compared to europe's. and of course the europeans had slightly better guns than japan has but they were still pretty much useless and high inaccurate.

o and Kamikaze really means "the devine wind" which did save them from invasion and tried to stop the american troops. you know what's kinda intresting is after the war in okanowa (spelling i no) there was a huge typhoon that pretty much destoried all the left over equipment that the USA left there. now if the japanese had held out a little longer, that could have destoried the american army there and could have turned the tide slightly in their favor. remember japan was building a lot of high tech machines for the war but they never got down to finishing them due to a few atom bombs

The fact that a katana was made of folded steel is what made them so strong, but the design is what made it so deadly, that curve made it a very good slashing weapon.

The japanese also devoloped armor that was meant to help protect them from arrows, but I think an arrow shot from a longbow can easily go through plate mail, so the paper in the armor wouldn't help much.
Plate mail had different strengths. Some could stop arrows, but it depended on how far away the arrow was shot.

yeah but those guns were highly inaccurate and took too long just to load. i mean you would have had to grab the long stick, put in a pellet, stack it in, grab a lit rope and stick it in there with the other hand, and pray that the whole thing wouldn't blow up in his face.

and all at that time, the japanese army just launched 10 volleys of arrows

thats why you use tactics, the first row fires and kneels, the second row fires and kneels, the third shoots and kneels, all till the first row is done reloading, then they shoot, and repeat.

yeah true since they were so inaccurate they had them fire a volley all at the same time. however during that time they still had to pray that the whole thing didn't just blow up and kill the 3 guys around. and that tatic didn't work well with gureilla warfare did it?
