Raging_Raptor. I find this more amusing than agrivating, though. I already reported these both so the link might be a dud by the time you read this. He seems to be an experienced map stealer . Read his comments for Minesweeper, for example.

Anyway, post any map stealers that you know of here.

P.S. Just in case you don't know, these are both my maps hes "claiming". I guess I was doing too much of a service to the mapping community by releasing unlocked maps, and now its coming back to haunt me. Well I don't do that anymore so I guess I've 'learned' my lesson.

Woa Woa Woa... How did you get 1.3 outta that? Thats exactly like my 3.0! You cant steal my map and not know how the triggers work... This is the real version of Minesweeper. It was made by me back in early 2001. It took me a week to makeTuxedo here thinks he can take my map and rename it to an earlier version? I dont think so. Just because I didnt have a protector then. Dont worry, its protected now. People, I urge you not to distribute Tuxedo\'s version because it is in basic words, a lie. I have been known in the past for what people say stealing snowbound from kck. That is not true. I am the original creator of Snowbound. That too, was stolen from me. Yet, I get all the blame. When I finish my Farmers Rpg Map, it will beat all other maps, guranteed. Ive worked on it for 3 months now. Prepare for it and then I will retire.

And again, one of my best maps I ever made... stolen once again. People need to learn. Especially you, tuxedo. Please, stop stealing everyone\'s maps. Its not right. Well, this map is basically a movie with MULTIPLE scenes in it. I would rate it a 10 outta 10. Beats all other movies on starcraft in my opinion except the kill me now, its hilarious. Tuxedo, good job on that 1. But dont take mine. Thx.

Why would someone as good a map maker as you release unprotected maps?

Ither way the statement made up there only further proves the fact that Snow bound was stolen.

Anyways it seems Rageing Raptor is changeing storys about Snow Bound right before my eyes. The story he gave me is that "kasceis" put his name on it an rereleased it. (see attached screen shot (last sentance)).

It seems to me that since he knows I know the truth he tells a differant story knowing i wouldn't buy the "no he did it" story.

A person who had his map stolen would not claim that some one else put HIS name onto the map. And if a map such as Snow Bound (first bound for the newbs in the crowd) was stolen, I find it highly doubtfull that the map creator would be mad about it yet release more unprotected maps.

By the way don't even try to pretend protectors didn't exist. They were around then and trust me anyone who know hyper triggers two + years ago surely knew of GUedit.

SC Fan isn't raging raptor (at least, I don't think), those were quotes taken from the links on SC.org (while they were still up, I mean.) Anyway, anyone else know any other map stealers they wouldn't mind publicly humiliating here? :evilgrin:

You guys should read a little more he said he was "Doing a servace to the community". People sit around and complain that everything is protected and once a unprotected copy is realeased and stolden they wonder why wasn't it protected.

True, but putting so much sweat and blood into a map such as Cannnonballs and Firefighters, its more of a bank withough security. Hard working maps require a protection, you deserve the credit, so keep it there. If you make a little, easy to make simple map, it dosnt require a protection, and belive me, people dont go around stealing bad maps.

Well, I DID release those both as locked maps, marking Kill Me! the last of my unlocked releases. I knew about map stealing from the getgo but I just didn't care so long as the so-called "important" people knew who made the map, but now I find thats not enough if I'm going to be making wide-appeal maps (like Kill Me) rather than my usual funky uber-trigger ones, which I'm about to wrap up as of now: time to start doing some more serious projects!

Anyway, back on topic: I don't have time to look up right now but I know that Dodge the Rapists and Reaver D are both stolen maps, and I've heard (but not verified) that GoldenUrg's Chess and X-Men RPG may be stolen as well. Anyone know the full story on these?

Im pretty sure those are stolen. I also know that Chicken Defence is also a stolen, I know the original makers were Peon(U), and Spike10012, but Iv seen too many steals. If you see any diffrent one, dont belive it. Usually, a stolen map will be left unprotected.

I think GUedit was the first program used for protection so whenever that was released.

I know RR, he's a good guy at heart. We would play around with peoples maps and change a lurker D to only have one player who could burrow lurkers, things like that. How exactly did you come across a map with his name on it? I'm curious because it might just be another prank of his, but I can't say for sure.

GoldenUrg did make the chess map, someone put their name in the briefing. Check the comments for GU's name.

Mathu and nuke_a_zerg also stole a prototype to a post simcity melee map of mine and made it absolutly disgusting .

MacMan Rageing Raptor's name is seen more commonly on Snow bound the then real creators name. Snow bound was the first bound map btw.
