if im not mistaken this is how its works:
first off, keep in mind, you can be anonymous, hell you can even do that thing where you rat on people for cash and never have to give your name
secondly, just because a tip comes in doesnt mean they instantly search the house, from what i know they will look into the matter, find out who lives there, possibly watch the area some, and if it looks suspicious then they will proceed
its happened to multiple people i know, its never an instant walk to the house and a "hi how you doin, can we come look for drugs in ur house?"
