I would like to see how many of people here are americans and are non americans. Just to use as a source in the future potential debates.

I think you know where I'm from. I'm a military brat, though -- AF to be specific. I've been everywhere from Nebraska (mid-west US) to Izmir, Turkey. The longest name of a place I've been to? Tschrollbach, Kieserschlautern, Deutschland (Germany).

Shoot them before they shoot you is the best I've got. My dad was a communications officer, and he retired when I was twelve. It was kind of fun moving around to all those places. I was never in Russia, though. It was still the USSR until just before my dad retired, and it was too dangerous. It might be a good time to visit now, though.

Thank you for your tip and yes it is a good time, but avoid dark valleys in large cities, we still got a big problem with mugging.

I can understand that. Such a huge leap from socialist republic to democratic capitolistic society is...harsh. China's doing a better transitional job.

Yes... That's one of China's great, modern mistakes, but, thanks in part to Hong Kong, they are starting a transition from socialist republic to democratic capitolist society. I think it will eventually smooth out, though it may take another fifty years, give or take.

Born and raised in Britain, England the place where I spent all my life (except holidays of course). Why would you have to move because you're dad was a comunications officer? Turkey? I'm guessing quite a few were holidays.

My dad had different assignments. He was assigned to NATO in Germany and Turkey. We had to go to Turkey for Operation: Desert Storm. My dad's specialty within communications was computers. Anyone in the military has to move around. Our holidays were to Greece, Italy, Denmark, Dutchland, a few other European countries, and several states in the US.

I was born in Florida and have moved around since I was a little
girl. The two places I have lived the longest in are Southampton
England and Florida USA (Pensacola, Molino, Pace, Milton).
My dad was in the Navy and my mum moved around to be with him.
