If you're pinging someone you use max packet size, check your MTU and packet settings, but it's usually 1024B (B, not b) for broadband...

And WHY would a packet flood slow down your PROCESSOR?? What does incoming packets even have to do with processing if they're not accepted?
Connecting to Battle.net does not open up ports that you can get hacked through

and DOS (or the Command Shell, same thing) is still used all the time... it has nothing to do with telnet

Telnet 'hosting'... err... I think we're talking about telnet clients here, not servers... why are you even talking about telnet when you're talking about denial of service?
