I agree, they should just charge more for the actual game, but meh, if it's good enough then it will be worth it to pay each month. Besides, it's kind of like spending money in an arcade, you have to pay every time you want to play.

ARcade games blow though.

ur stupid if u waste your money in an arcade by repeatedly playing. And you generaly dont have to pay 70$ to get to the arcade machine to pay more money to play a little more

arcade u dont pay monthly and its a set amount...... eg. 1month $3.00 worth of arcade games

but mmorpg is fixed and sometimes we dont play as often as we do, and i have a life outside the computer so i aint payin shit for stuff im not gonna play

meh,i think that that game had a review on matrix revolutions dvd,in teh extra features, i prolly wont buy it since im trying to cut down on my game time,but it does look kickass

i was following a mmorpg in the dev stages a while back, and i picked up some info.

i know for a fact, that one server with enough bandwidth and storage space for about 1/20th of the initial game demand(im not sure how may people that is, at most 100k total 5k simultaneous, probably less), will run AT LEAST $50,000 american a month. so for this game(it was SWG) they were shelling out 1 mil every month for the servers, in addition to the initial and ongoing development costs. and dont forget customer service.

believe me, they arent ripping you off. they are doing what they have to in order to run the game.

heh, im not saying i like it, ive had to not play several mmorpgs because im a poor bastard and cannot justify the $10-15 a month. im just saying its necessary.
