From what she has said, apparently thats her problem.

Either something has affected the programs that start up the internet sockets and protocols. Or illegal operations in teh browser she is using are the culprit.

I have Windows Vista. It happened after closing a game the first time. Then it didnt happen for a few days. Then when it did it just did it randomly and each I relogged it did it again (don't think it had to do with the connection.) over and over till I did a system restore. Today it happened when I closed a game, then when I restarted it took me to a black screen that started running some thing up to 100%. Checking my c drive or something.

From what you have said, it seems you had a lingering problem living in your PC for some time, and never noticed it. Or you have had damage done to you from a virus you destroyed that is screwing up your web browser. There are a few solutions:

1) Reformat your C Drive, and install AVG/Avast and Spybot to protect your PC off the bat.
2) Try a different web browser

@Vadriel: I know you are enjoying this Kodak moment, but she is being serious. We may not get along to some degree, but apparently she needs help. You dont see me acting like that man. Come on, you know better.

Edit: Oh, and Vista's a piece of crap. My mother uses it on her computer and she's always *****ing about it. 2 gigs of ram just to run Vista slower than ****? It's ridiculous. XP ftw.

vista is fine. don't ***** about it unless u run it. I've been running it for a few months and have had limited problems. Her system is probably ****.

And didn't you tell me before that your mother isnt exactly the most reliable with computers in the family?

I am in the same situation with BulfrogKing, I am having very limited problems with it. I installed DirectX Runtime and that solved all my DirectX problems. I installed AVG and havent had a virus attack for a year. I have the 4 GB of ram and a decent GFX card to compensate for the negative resource effects of Vista.

The only reason people are *****ing about Vista being a **** OS is 2 reasons. 1) They dont know how to tweak it to make it more effective, 2) They have had very limited use or never used it at all themselves.
