Diablo II Accounts Closed, CD Keys Banned

Numerous additional accounts and CD keys were tied to the use of a maphack or cheat program while playing Diablo II on Battle.net. In keeping with our aggressive stance against hacks and cheats, we have permanently closed over over 700,000 Diablo II accounts. We have also banned over 7,500 CD keys and 300 spammer accounts permanently. Please note that repeat offenders risk having their CD keys disabled, which results in permanent removal from Battle.net for their copies of Diablo II.

We continue to monitor the Diablo II realms for malicious players. We regret having to employ these extreme measures; however, certain unscrupulous players have impaired the game play of the Diablo II communities as a whole, and severe action continues to be warranted and required. We would also like to reassure everyone that a false report filed by one player against another will not result in the actions described above.

Well, if people get banned for hacking, I'm sure I will definitely get banned. Still no cd-key/accnt ban and ive tried just about every patched thing there is on realms.

It's easy to edit an old ban notice to seem like it's for the present..

I don't think blizz has there news like pre written ( unless on paper). When they are ready to announce it they just type it up and save it to the site. especially for stuff like this where they just grab a template and change the date lol. This is just someone starting some shyt, and 12:00pm has come and gone...any accounts gone??

Heh, I dont think it is true that they are banning.. (At least I hope not) They usually do that before a new patch comes out.. Like they did last time before 1.10 came out.
