My personal preferance for if and when we catch Osama bin Laden is:

1) Don't torture him. Why? Ever heard of the Geneva (sp?) Convention?
2) Try him State-Side (USA).
3) Send him to a specific Florida prison (explain later).
4) DON'T pursue the death penalty (agian, explain later).
5) My dad told me about this specific crimminal in the Floridian prison I want ObL sent to
6) We can now watch him suffer without torturing him

It's more likely that BAM's idea is going to happen. Plus, there are a lot of people against capital punishment...

I don't believe it extends outside POWs, and that's what Osama bin Laden would be. Well...a "head of state" POW, anyway.

I believe he's as much a coward as Saddam Hussien. Sure both have actual blood on thier hands, but that's always with some sort of "gang" to support them. I think the Iraqis would beat Saddam to a pulp before he committed suicide -- and same goes with Osame (execpt replace Iraqi with American or Afganistanian)

FYI: We have troops in Afganistan searching... I have a personal beleif that Osama may have moved with the mass of Al Queda currently in or going to Iraq. Who knows, we might catch two birds in one country -- at different times, of course

As per capitol punishment: I'm for it. However, Osama is one of those cases where I see the death penelty as more reprocution producing than useful. If he's alive and "surrended", it plays major morale decay for loyalists. In Saddam's case, he has to be tried and killed by his people, no ifs, ands, or buts. It will serve a very positive morale boost for a stabalizing force in the Middle East. It's just the way this drama seems to be playing out, and as was predicted by many who have studied the mind-set of people in/of the Middle East.

Every 100 plus American lives lost to terrorists, One Nuke should be sent over. Oh but they don't have a country? Send it to the one they are hiding in or the one that they came from. They will get the hint that American lives come at a huge cost. No country in there right mind would harbor such people if this was our stand. Terrorists play hard ball and kill innocent people, we must be willing to take it to any level just like them. It's an ugly world we have to be just as ugly.

Who's going to want to start a war with the US? A war with the US and no one wins. We Throw a bunch of nukes in the air, you die. If you have nukes you send yours back at us before you die, then we die. If you don't have nukes you just die. The document of which you speak is something to the effect of the UN Weapons Pact. It bans all weapons that can be used to kill a large number of people en masse. That includes nuclear, biological, and chemical. It also bans S.C.U.D.S. and long range ballistic missles. The US F-22 Raptor carries the maximum range missle in it's hold, if I'm not mistaken.

As for not killing Saddam... It would be more of a mistake not to let the Iraqis kill him. It would be a boon to them, and it's not going to help moralize loyalists -- they'll be scared of the people they tortured for so long. I take things case by case and look at the scenario played out. I don't want Osama dead or torutured (martyrdom), but I do want him to suffer the rest of his living days. It won't lead to martyrdom if he's imprissoned for the rest of his life -- and in a Floridian jail no less I'll get the name of the prison and man he should be imprissoned with later

Many good points. And believe me VegetaClam, one nuke could destory this world:

1. US launches nuke at country. US is expelled from UN for attacking a whole country without being provoked.

2. US would be attacked sooner or later, because many people would hate it (for unprovokedly attacking a country). Most likely another 9/11 or nuke.

3. US would strike back with more nukes.

4. Everyone else begins fighting with nuclear bombs.

5. World War 3: Nucler Missiles and Bio Bombs.

6. The world is turned into a lifeless ball, floating in space. All because the US decided to launch a nuke at an innocent country that was SUSPECTED of harbouring terrorists.
