Remember that the central dogma of business is to make money.....and if something is making money...to find more things that make money.
After all, it's hard to see how another game in the Diablo franchise would be detrimental to Blizzards already enormous net worth. It is, after all...a franchise that has maintained a loyal (and populous, I might add) following for seven years, despite no games being released within the last FIVE.
Same thing happened with starcraft 2.....it will have ben 10 years since broodwar was released, and since that time millions around the world still play.....and you can bet SC2 will be a blockbuster.
