Ok, I was building a bunker wars type of game and everything is running perfect on it so far... except one thing... I cannot get the upgrades (infantry armor, infantry weapons) to go past level 3 in the real game, like they do in Bunker Wars 2003 or S.W.A.T. Wars... How do you set this? Can you do it through the standard editor or do I have to have a 'utility'? Which one do I need if the answer is yes?

Thanks!

Here is a question for you dylan_007 are you running either Windows 2000, or ME?

Also, what did you use to unzip, or decompress the utility?

I'm just wanting to know this to substantiate some theories I've been working on.
That, and.......
These two operating systems seem to have the most problems running this utility, while using WinZip.

Here is a possible cure.

Un-install the Xtra Editor from your PC.
Download a copy from the link in my signature. ((Down Below))
It usually comes as a .rar file.
If you don't have WinRar, get a shareware copy from somewhere, and decompress it with WinRar.
((If you do an unzip with WinZip, it sometimes loses stuff.))
After you decompress, install.

If it still says these same errors, >OR< even if it works, let us know.

Worse case scenarion, maybe I can transfer a copy to you through a messager, if the above fails.

By the way, thanks for posting the picture, until now, I didn't know what the error looked like first hand.

I am using XP and I had downloaded the editor from the exact same place that you had told me to... I did uninstal it and try again, just in case... but the results were the same... I did use WinRAR to open it... It hink it is just windows XP and it's infamous uncompatability with almost any decent program... I may try to do this on my laptop (windows 98) later this weekend...

Actually, this is the first time that I've heard of this problem from XP, with this utility.
XP is what I'm running, and I used the Extraction utility that came with XP.
If your not sure of the utility I'm speaking of, right click on a zipped file, you will see "Extract All..." that's the utility.

Do you have any other utilities, or hacks installed that are connected directly, or indirectly to StarCraft?
They may be manipulating the needed files, causing this problem.

I am going to reformat my computer this weekend and hope that it fixes some little hidden problem i dont know about... I will let you know then... In the meantime, I'm just gonna run the program with windows 98 on anohter comp... that should work alright...

zergling486:

go **** off...

ok back to the point, re-install it a few more times, if that doesn't work, go reinstall it again, you might need some extra programs to get it working, so visit some other sites and check around if there are extra things u need installe for it to run.

Same Problem

I have Downloaded a lot of differant editors, but only 1 works for me, all the others say
"Data File Error....
the problem occurred while trying to load a file
arr\images.dat
The system cannot find the specified."

Please if anyone knows how to overcome this problem let me know!

The only 1 editor that does work seems to be independent of StarGraft and/or StarDraft (called SCEPMPQ).
But i wanted an editor that allows you to stack buildings (in the editor).
This editor allows you to place buildings anywhere but not stacked(and some great options).

Or if nobody knows how to fix it, where i can get a editor that does work.

Thx.

If it can't load arr\images.dat, you should probably try reinstalling starcraft, not the editor. One more thing - SCXE *requires* Broodwar for it to work correctly.
