and of spells... the paladin hammer spell was good and the druid bear. 1200 dam.

lol, no it's insanely SLOW attack and R/W speed it should be +.
- is the BASE attack speed of the weapon, the less the faster. But ias and FRW should be +, it's enough with 20+ to max res which gives you 95, you can't have more and nothing can decrease your maximum res

my pally uses an ethereal BOTD beserker axe (about 340 max 1-hand dmg) and his freeze merc uses an ethereal BOTD war pike (about 1250 max dmg). they do ok.

were you talking about weapon base damage or the damage that the merc does?

my merc's eth BOTD war pike has base damage of 226-1236. with my fanat aura, my merc does 1693-7632 damage. no damage modifiers on his equipment (empty 1.08 gaze and um'd shaft). I guess I could stick a 40/15max jewel in the gaze. would be interchangeable with many of my other characters or their mercs.
