Re: Headset Shopping

Whats your budget? I'd suggest staying away from Plantronics (my hundred dollar pair broke after a year of use, I accidently destroyed the cord with a chair), Im all about SENNHEISERs now, they got some of the best product in just about every price range. Check them on Newegg.

Re: Headset Shopping

Yeah Seinheisers are all the rage i hear. Both my brothers have a pair, one is a real cheap $50 pair, and the other is an expensive >$200 pair (Which is well worth the money, mind you).

Re: Headset Shopping

I like Koss' headsets, allthough they tend to break easily (read: having a bad day). Good sound quality, comfortable, and somewhat cheap.

Re: Headset Shopping

In the valve games it gets extreme static. In ventrilo certain users will get some sort of static in my mic. The rest then gets nothing but a first few words then it just statics out

Re: Headset Shopping

I'd recommend going for good headphones with a separate mic, and definitely don't waste your money on any of the "gamer" headsets such as the Steelsound or Icemats. Stick with brands such as AKG or Sennheiser.

Without checking other websites, I've found Sennheiser RS110, which seems like a great bang for your buck set of cans. If you can, I'd try and see if you could up your budget to $100, as the options from there are numerous. The HD555's are excellent, and look damn sexy!

Also, Frisky Dingo is fucking awesome, whoever Barnaby is. Boosh!

Besides the shit sound quality, Logitechs break all the time. I've had more Logitech headsets than any other brand, and from $10 to $40, they're complete shit.

Re: Headset Shopping

Sennheisers are an excellent choice, yet they cost too much for my taste.

I went with a Creative Fatal1ty. It was cheap (25€) and its pretty darn comfortable.

Re: Headset Shopping

Not necessarily. USB headsets always seem to have driver issues, even tho they're supposed to be plug'n play
