The Zealot is the best basic land unit... There is no undeniable fact about that...

i would like to C someone last against the zerg first rush...it cannot be done if the zerg player is good enuff.

edit: i heard someone say they could get at least 3 rines built by time zerg rush...doesnt' seem possible really.

Ok..When Blizzard started out with a game called starcraft the knew that whatever they did they had to make sure that each of the three races had the same ammounts of weaknesses and strenths so that no race could be dominant. Now of course they had no Idea about mone maps back then but that doesn't matter. Anyway for example since everyone is talking abot BASIC units we'll start there.

Zealot : Most expesive BASIC unit in SC
Takes longest to build
Takes up most supply
However it does more damage in one hit then any outher BASIC unit. And it has Life PLUS shield.

Marine Second most expensive BASIC unit in SC
Takes about 3/4 the ammount of time it takes for the Zealot to build
Takes up 1 less sypply then the Zealot
But It does less damage with one blow
And it does not have shield. Also marine has less life than a zealot.

Zergling Least expensive unit in SC
Takes the shortest ammount of time to build. (about 1/2 the time of a Zealot)
Takes the same supply as the marine however there are 2 zerglings for every egg.
2 zerglings doing one blow does the least damage. But their attack spped is much higher.
Also zerlings have the least ammount of life but givin the same time and minerals a good plauer can have twice as many of them as marines.

So as you may or may not see all the races have equal weaknesses and strenths. If Im wrong on somethings feel free to criticize I dont care.

Yes it is, depends on the size of the map and how fast you rack up minerals. Besides the zealot has one weakness melee wise, its Dark Templar/large number of Firebats. But people these days go for more the dark templar then the firebats because they cloak and their damage isn't halved (hydra) or 1/4ed (tanks) like the firebats.
