People just have this crazy tenancy to inflate his intelligence or military prowess beyond that of a 6 year old.

US and UK bombed his industry into the ground and defeated most of the Luftwaffe, Soviet Union destroyed the dominating majority of his ground forces. Hitler rose to power because of the desperate situation in post-WWI Germany, people don't like getting spanked, especially by the French. Hitler found them a scapegoat and through war preparations drove his country out of an economic crisis. In any case May 9th just passed, happy victory day, lets remember the fallen.
