You could've used a HEL rune to erase the runes of the original Gris armor :/

i didnt even know that back when i started 09---- i think i actually just mfed another gris armor---lol-- ill never forget the first character i made--- mf barb with 2 honor ettins,skullders,chancies,nagels , even found a shako---lol he was so lame--- switched right before meph died to 2x ali baba--lollllllllllllllll---and the best part--- they had 2x perf skulls in em---lolllllllllllllllllllllllllllll--- for my supa godly leech--- kinda sad but he actually found the items that allowed me to make an mf sorc which then turned into an mf frenzy and by the end of 09 i had a super bugged barb,zon and sorc

You put runes in a socketed normal item in the correct order. If you want more assistance on this, you should make a thread about it in Newbies Only Forum. All questions such as that one belong there.

this is a d2 question so ill give you some help--- collect all the runes you find and keep them--- find yourself a good site that lists all the runewords and learn what runes are used for different items--- battle.net has a complete list of all the runewords since 1.09--- socket each rune just as the word is shown and IN THE CORRECT ITEM--- such as sword or bow-- specific runewords only work in specific items--- best thing to do is read about em all

In addition to the info already mentioned, you can only use normal and superior items to make runeworded items.
