Actually septoid has an interesting point. Posers have just as much a right to express themselves as everyone else, whether or not that's actually who they are. That's why it pisses me off- because a lot of posers are just trying to act all 'rebellious' and 'nonconformist' in the exact same way as everyone else, in the way society has dictated is 'rebellious' and 'nonconformist', and end up being just another fake, identityless product of our stupid, messed up society.

you never find any goth people anymore. anyone who is slightly depressed gets called goth or poser. i don't think you can label anyone anything, because it's sad, angsty, and also stupid.

posers don't piss me off. i get called poser because i listen to music i like, and the clothes i wear. i listen to John Mayer, and cradle of filth, because i like them. i'll wear a gap t-shirt one day and a marilyn manson t-shirt the next. i don't crave for attention or anything but i am myself and that makes me a poser, why? i don't know.

I know a few goths. There are quite a few goths, it's just people seem to confuse other things with being gothic.

like killer 900, i am labled a poser because i listen to punk, ska, metal, goth, reggae <sp?> and indie rock wear all black because i like the color, and im learning japanese so i can listen to j-rock and watch anime undubbed or subbed

posers dont bother me, because they are just trying to fit in and make friends, because thier friends wont accept them any other way. ive been in their shoes once before, and i didnt even know it was happening. i convinced myself it was what i wanted. the biggest thing people falsly think about posers is that they wake up and think " time for another day of posing" which they mostly dont

Anyways it has been said that imitation is the highest form of flattery.

If those who act like themselves are met with ostracism can we really blame them for trying to fit in?

*Sigh* Well I guess i can say I'm gothic... I love poetry and music is almost a sanctuary for me. I don't dress with all the fishnets and weird shit like that. I do enjoy chains very much though . But I usually don't dress in all black. I know some goth people who will wear normal clothes. Usually just blank shirts but they're not really any name brands. The problem is most people ONLY rely on stereo types. OMG!? I DIDN'T KNOW YOU WHERE GOTHIC!!! WHY AREN'T YOU WEARING ALL BLACK!!?!?! WHY AREN'T YOU SOOO DEPRESSEd WTF!? Believe it or not I get that reaction a lot. It's quite sad really. But I guess ignorance is bliss...

I have a friend named Kilm, who has long black hair, wears all black and gray, and has red-tinted glasses. Wanna know WHY I think he's a goth? Because he scares the HELL OUT OF a LOT of people. He gets so freaking quiet, you don't even remember he's there. Society doesn't reject him, he REJECTS SOCIETY. He wears no makeup (but one time he put red paint on his face) has no tatoos (he carved symbols into his back one time) and he isn't satanic (but he studies it, because he wants to understand it). If ANYTHING, attention is what he LEAST wants of all. He scares me, when I don't know what kind of mood he's in. He's so quiet, and neautral, and serious, and when he's pissed off, he doesn't show it. This is why no one has EVER EVER EVER picked on him. Beside the fact that there are a lot of different people at my school, and there aren't many things that are looked at badly. I also have a couple of friends who are homosexual. Doesn't bother me, and my straight friends don't say anything. I wasn't always in those situations, though... I've gone to some pretty crappy schools... but that's another story, and one that I will probably post in another thread, if an appropriate one comes up

There are not really many real Goths. Most of them only dress like goths because they don't want to be an outsider.
in germany now it's the same with 3rd party punks. they buy cloths at New Yorker's with the words PUNK or WILD PUNK on it, they start drinking beer at least once a week and they listen to Nightwish and then they think they are punks, but they don't know that punk isn't how you look like, it's how you are feeling and what you think. and then they say anarchy suxx.
i am punk. and not this 3rd party sh**.
and there is one guy in our town who don't likes me and always want to fight with me and he always says:"you sucking punk! punks suck, you suck, you should be killed by a truck!" and the next day he wants to my girlfriend to be his girlfriend and she's a punk too. this guy really sucks and he sees himself as a racist but his best friend comes from turky. this is one of these 3rd party guys.
but back to the 3rd party punks. they also go into shops and try to steal things and if they get caught everyone says all punks suck. i can't go shopping in normal stores because they throw me out only because i am a punk. i always have to send my friends to buy chips or beer for me. there are only 4 stores is our town where i can buy something and this only because the owners know my parents and i got some sort of passport i have to show to the security that i'm allowed to go in there.
yes it's hard to say some sucks but the same happens to you you know why i'm saying they suck
