but when i played d2 when it came out, mewgood's files all had trojans and other shit.

I've used Mewgoods back in 1.09 when they had available hacks. It was clean and popular back when I played.

If you are willing to trust a file from a new member, I believe that I have the version of GM you are looking for (1.10). Would link you to a site, but I can't remember where I dled this from.

Worked fine for me using 1.10, didn't notice anything funny, though I didn't decompile so I can't say for 100% that it is safe.
