Well if you killed that person as an act of self-defense that might be reasonable, but what you did really is dumb, shout is enough for that guy to be scared IMO,

Get them to brake into your house and kill them then, just make sure if your gonna hurt them inside your own house you kill them to avoid any lawsuites.

Getting away with Murder is easy. There are only three rules

1) Has to be a complete stranger, someone youve never met, had no contact with, don't even know, bonus points if it's out of your city.
2) Wear a wetsuit. They're the best chance you have of not leaving hair or skin particles around.
3) Know your plan. Get in, get the kill, get out.

And as a bonus, never -ever- go back or anywhere near the murder scene.

Follow those rules and it's easy to get away with it. So easy.

To take the original question in a slightly different direction...

The point of shooting is to protect your car, right? So if your aim is that great, why shoot to kill? Take some shots around the guy(s) and scare the shit out of him/them!

Mind you, I have a hard time believing that in real life, anyone without a crapload of training could still have such great aim on the spur of the moment that this would work. Chances are that you'd accidentally hit someone (or your car, or someone else's car). But wouldn't some kind of scare tactic be more effective - and less problematic legally - than trying to kill?

All that said, really sorry to hear your car got stolen. :/ I lost something precious to a pickpocket recently, so I understand how being stolen from brings out its own brand of rage. It's not just about the property you lose; there's a sense of being so personally disrespected.

If that is how it would play out I might as well just fire into the air.

But shooting with a rifle isn't as hard as it sounds with practice. It's not like I got an AK or anything that recoil would mess me up.

But richochets will be problematic.

I just bought another car. 93 toyota Camry... 4 door. Alot less likely to get stolen.

But in the paper 2 more Honda civics (the same car I had) just got stolen this week.

What is your background with guns? Like, do you have military training? Do you hunt? Do you shoot at a range? (Not to call your credibility into question; I'm just curious. :))

See, I used to be an archer - and yes, I know there are significant differences between bows and guns - yet I get the impression that if I were armed with a bow for some real-life situation (let's not think too hard about how that would ever happen! ;)), a lot of my training would go out the window. Conditions would just be too different, you know?
