Freny Barb- Can it be done?

i have frenzy barb right now and it's fun as hell! i can get to throne in baal runs faster than the sorcs can tele sometimes hehe(thank u mh).

gear is kind of expensive tho:

p arreats
archon fort
ebotdz
last wish zerker
lava gouts
p goreriders
p arachs
p bk ring
240% raven frost
29 mara's
a bunch of 100 pdsc's and combat charms

there's probly room for improvement on gear, but he's pretty much invincible most of the time pvm

this guy does about 5-7k dmg and has like 3.5k life or more(i can't remember off the top of my head)

only problems are i can't decide on a merc to use, i'm probly gonna go w/ act 2 defiance tho....and IM kicks my ass even in normal

The problem is I will NEVER be able to afford ebotd zerkers. In fact, I would have had problems obtaining that much stuff even back when my accts were still intact.

Yeah, one step at a time. Before you even think of persuing the elite gear, might want to get the medium-class gear first, right? Since he can't afford it, he can make do with something else. Unless he just wants to duel, then he will need to find a way into getting those items which most people lack sleep for.

maybe 2 death cleavers (eth would be great, but they're also expensive as hell)

not too sure about what armor would be somethin w/ damage reduce i guess and good def maybe upped shaft? i dunno

arreats, gores, and lavagouts shouldn't be hard to find tho for the rest. if ur on west scl i might be able to help


also, i would put at least one skill in all the passives(iron skin, natural resist...) once u get all ur items on u will get awesome bonuses from all of these skills. this makes it harder to max out all the synergies, my shout is still not all the way up, but u will survive a lot easier.

Well right now I'm using armor that has 15 dr and some resists, but only has ~230 defense (he's only lvl 35... I've been building others simotaniously and I'm not a super hardcore player anymore). As for later tho, the best I could get is corpsemourn so far. As for weapons I'm pretty much screwed once bloodletters outlive their usefulness... Have a unique elegant blade with a ton of leech and +life after kills, but thats about it. As for Arreats, I've tried, but my most valuable item right now is a estuchas orb, and it has low % (13 fire 10 light), nowhere near worth anything. I'm just hoping sooner or later I'll stumble upon a free game with some less than mediocre gear (I was just in a game last week where I missed an enigma by a second Needless to say I wished I had pickit )

i have made a frenzy barb that rushed in hell better than hammerdin, surprisingly enough it is true, he had to have some godly gear that wasnt cheap and a few gcs butit was worth it, till i was hacked aand all my chars deleted. and now i shall post a long string of ranting about the barb, his gear, stats, and charms to use.....

Stat Points:as for stat points, save them till about lvl 85 or so, or till when you can use all your stuff. save the stat points till you are high enough lvl to use all your gear and then put as little into dex andnone in energy, try to go 50/50 with life and strength, for more dmg and better chance of living.
Gear:-5 bo delirium
-40/15 ias arreats face
-ebotd cb x2(400+ed)
-13xx enigma
-Bugged Coh(for uber hunting)
-String of ears(verdungos, or nosforetus call)
-2 perfect bul-kathos rings
-gore rider
-soul drainer(6/6 leaches or above)
-chaos noose ammy
-2 hotos(any res, used for fcr and res when teleing and wc's when boing instead of wc weps)
Inventory:-1i0 war cry gcs (with fhr/life/res mods)
-anni(15/15/x and above)


i did this with a barb and was rushing in hell better than a hammerdin doing 14k with each hammer, i did 8-10k each sword. as for going pvp, well, this isnt a pvp build, more or less a pvm build meant for rushing.for those of you that actually get to try this build out, it may take time, but its worth it in the end, fastest attack speed you will ever see, unfortunately, its not ranged weapons. but still a great build, alos the only char i have ever used or seen be able to take onhell baal without having to use a single potion due to the massive leachs he has, he may take a bit to kill uber d, but he is a great uber hunter with a bugged coh on. i hope that anyone who builds this char again will enjoy it.

I made a frenzy barb and I love him. Hes best for pvm, not so good in pvp. Mine uses Nig armor, chaos noose ammy, RF and 5ll bk ring, 2 ebotdz at 380% ed, War trav boots, tgods (for light absorb against souls), dracs for life tap, and up'ed arreats helm. The only problem I have is IM in hell mode but any other time he just mows them down. With merc from act 2 hell I do about 9k dmg per axe. I also have an inventory full of poison charms. With bo I got over 4k life and 16.5k def. Thats just my .02 cents

Wow jesus this thread is old. This is actually the most random thing I've ever seen, someone who joined 5 months ago made his first post digging up my year old thread

I got him to NM baal runs but shortly after my will to restart D2 really gave in. Simply put, without a starting point with gear, it's impossible to restart, and it's much worse now that blizz is mass banning botters. Theres no way I have the willpower to manually do hundreds of meph runs for the slim chance of getting good items.

if you can save up id suggest the following:

Arreats face
ebotdz, grief, doom, or beast [any combination should be fine]
fort or enigma or coh [id suggest enigma]
treks
2x BK's
maras/metalgrid
highlords
verdungos or nosf coil

not having a shield isnt that big a deal, barbs go w/o shields allt he time.
