Freny Barb- Can it be done?

Well I used search (perish the thought ) and the first replies I came across were things like "OMG FRENZY IS TEH SUX IT WILL NEVAR WORKZOR". However I thought it would be fun to build one since I've never tried before. Several factors to consider:

-Just restarted so I'm poor, and I'm not really planning on getting back into the hardcore d2 stuff, so I'm just looking for sort of a pvm/pvp hybrid just to have fun.

-He's currently lvl 9 with only 1 skill pt used down the frenzy line, so if the situation is hopeless I can change fairly easily.

Basically skills/items would be helpful.

Frenzy
Required Level: 24
Prerequisites: Bash [1], Double Swing [6], Double Throw [12]

Although a Barbarian is capable of calculated blows and tactical fighting techniques, it is his fierce passion for battle that distinguishes him in battle. While using this skill, a Barbarian drives more and more force into each successive blow as his anger and bloodlust mounts.

Effect: Every successful hit increases your velocity and attack speed.

Select Frenzy, equip two weapons and hit the enemy. When the Barbarian makes a successful hit on the enemy, he will go into a Frenzy. The Barbarian can now in his Frenzy state, move much quicker and swing much faster. You can even combine this skill with other skills, after going into a Frenzy, quickly change to another skill and use it in combination with Frenzy.

Frenzy increases in attack speed as more monsters are hit.

ok heres the good things,

you can do MAJOR dmg

downside is...

you cant use shields since u need 2 weps, so its a lil useless unless you have some godly armor

try it out, might be good in a duel vs a sorc if u have good resist, but since u dont have a shield another barb will probly whoop ur ass

I have two Frenzy barbs. A straight forward frenzy barb with 2 GFs that has no problems in Hell except for IM curses.

Also a WW/Frenzy hybrid with a Beast/EBOTD zerkers. This cat is wicked good. Again, IM is his downfall.

So yeah, Frenzy can be very successful in PvM.

Frenzy + white ring in .09 on my barb was so fun. lol ran round like mad men. i think frenzy barb is still possible in 1.10 just for pvm tho. and u may need some expensive gear.. perhaps?

Well, not saying this is good or anything, but I used to have a Frenzy Barbarian. It got up to level 90, and it used no runeword gear, and it did pretty good damage for hell, like 5,000 at the most with each Grandfather I had. Hwoever, with better gear it could be workable in my opinion. I used mostly Hell Uniques/Duped Rares with some other items and basically it almost enough to handle Hell to a good degree. I leeched a lot of life with just that gear. If you had better gear, then it probably could be a lot more workable with stats as well as damage. Hope that helps.

Lol sacrifice pally blows lol its part of the zeal build and just using sacrifice sucks lol... I have friends they'll hook me up lol cause I gave them 4 accts with all 75+ lvl above all godly in new runewords

Well, friends rock. Not only for that reason, but you know. I want to see these builds when you are done especially the suicide Paladin. it just sparks a ''LOL'' in my brain when I picture him die8ing and taking a few people out with him.

Yeah. I wish I still had rich friends, that way I could have an easy way of restarting myself. But, you may just have to wig it in order to make this barbarian work. Either that or you could go the richkid route and buy things off of Ebay. I don't advise that though.

a friend of mine as a amazing frenzy pvp barb that works well, but its gear is kinda expensive.

nah tgods is good. i think it gives +Str +vit. and lightening absorb... but dungos might be bit better choice

Well so far he's been doing well. I managed to get some low lvl stuff off free games and he's now doing some baal runs (hes ~lvl 40). Does 500dmg a hit and with frenzy it goes pretty quick. I think he'll have problems at later lvls though since his defense and resists are both fairly low.

ahhhh... did u invest in either iron skin or shout?? that might help ur defense.... also maybe put one in resists mastery. and if u have enuf +skill items it might help?

That can be helped with skills/gear. Iron Skin and the natural Resistance passives can go a long way, I would think. I hope he's going to make it, making mine work was hell in itself. I, however, was very poor and not the best person to make such a build.
