Yay, I'm not the only one! People tend to think I'm weird for not liking movies all that much. Then again, I embrace my weirdness.just not a big movie doer
But there are some films I've really enjoyed. The ones that aren't in English can be found with subtitles.
Lost In Translation
If you travel internationally a lot, you've totally had this kind of experience.
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
Touching story, beautiful dancelike martial arts.
Serenity
I have a soft spot for Firefly. XD
Harold and Maude
Very clever, very funny, very touching. Great use of music, too. One of the few films I can bear to watch over again.
Shri 420
An old film from India (made in the 50s, I think). I must have been 3 when I first saw it, though of course I totally missed the clever dialogue and sociopolitical commentary back then. Apparently it became a huge hit in Russia!
Asoka
Another Indian film, more recent (2004?) about the emperor of the ancient Mauryan empire in his warmongering days. Not for the faint of heart. The costumes are amazing (I want Kaurwaki's armour!) and the music is incredible... and it's also one of the few films where the fighting is based on kalaripayattu (the martial art which katars* come from).
*There's no katar-fighting that I recall, but you do get to see an uruhi (multiple-bladed whip) in action!
