*shrug* It was always my favorite of the "current" generation consoles.
You're right. There was no "select" button on either the N64 or the GameCube controllers. We won't know about the N5 Revolution's controller until, I'd say, around Thanksgiving week. I believe the Revolution will follow the same "tradition" previous Nintendo consoles have (since at least the SNES I believe). That being said; E3 is just a "teaser" to the truth behind the veil. The system specifications will be released after the control system (which I stated would probably be around Thanksgiving -- yes, a US holiday, but I know them best). The actual specifications will probably be released around Christmas, to give the competition the least amount of time possible to comfensate -- not that Microsoft would be able to, anyway.
If you don't know what I mean by comfensate, I won't spoil it ^_^
This will leave release to the end of Winter or beginning of Spring. I'm nearly willing to bet that it will be sold around the same time as the PS3 -- possibly "beating" it to market. It doesn't really matter, however. In a sense, it would keep with Nintendo's promise to "release the Revolution before the competion" -- as they see
only Sony as true competion. Let's face it, the X-Box only really sells in the US.
That means the US version will be out around Thanksgiving. If I recall correctly, Sony's estimate for PS3 US release will be Q4, closer to Christmas. The timing could be seen as either a boon or a bane. Myself, I make most of my money Q3 and Q4, nearly twice as much as Q1 and Q2 in fact.
*chuckle* That could explain why Spring and Summer are dry seasons for gaming. I know of no more than twelve titles being released across GBA, DS, GC,
and PS2 that I will be buying and
maybe an additional five that I will preview. This Fall and Winter, however... Let's just say I'll play catch up later

I hope to see a Golden Sun for the GameCube or Revolution. A DS title might be nice. It's all but guaranteed that there will be a Smash Bros game. It's doubtful that whey won't have a Mario game following the "Mario 64 tradition". Although, a release library of...over two or three thousand games sounds impressive. Wow...twenty years can build a huge library
I'd like to see Namco release another Tales game. Perhaps we could see another Network Transmission game upon or sometime shortly after Revolution release.

Okay. I ramble a lot when I talk about things I like.
