how is that scary? it displayed complete backwards compatability by allowing you to plug in your gamecube controllers
If my memory is correct, the Gamecube controller has every button that the N64 controller has(and etc) and for the Revolution to be backwards compatable, it should have a controller that has every button the Gamecube controller has. So what's the need for a Gamecube controller/slot unless they're going with how the wireless GC controller works where you still need to plug something in?

Revolution is using a completely different controler type, so whatever it is wont have anything like buttons like the old type of controls. they will be wireless hwoever. therefore you would need to have a gamecube controler to plug in.

The N64 had a Dpad, joystick, four C-buttons, L, R, A, B, X, Y, and Z buttons. It had three "prongs" coming off it, and the Z button was conveniantly placed on the same "prong" as the joystick as a "trigger" button.

The GameCube has a Dpad, joystick, 8-position C-stick, L, R, A, B, X, Y, and Z buttons. It is shaped to fit your hands with easy access to all controls. The Z button is relocated to directly under the R button.

Each controller has been different, evolving for comfort and control. I've always liked the Nintendo controllers the best. I can adapt/readapt to them quickest, and I find my eyes on the screen nearly all the time.

One thing I hated about the GC controller was the size of the Directional Pad. The games I had for my 'old' Gamecube did not work well with the small D-pad. Take Tony Hawk Pro Skaters' games for example.
Also, the Nintendo 64 controllers removed the 'Select' button, I believe. For the Revolution controller, I like it to be somewhat 'formal'. I got used to the GC controller, but the appearance was bad.

*shrug* It was always my favorite of the "current" generation consoles.

You're right. There was no "select" button on either the N64 or the GameCube controllers. We won't know about the N5 Revolution's controller until, I'd say, around Thanksgiving week. I believe the Revolution will follow the same "tradition" previous Nintendo consoles have (since at least the SNES I believe). That being said; E3 is just a "teaser" to the truth behind the veil. The system specifications will be released after the control system (which I stated would probably be around Thanksgiving -- yes, a US holiday, but I know them best). The actual specifications will probably be released around Christmas, to give the competition the least amount of time possible to comfensate -- not that Microsoft would be able to, anyway.

If you don't know what I mean by comfensate, I won't spoil it ^_^

This will leave release to the end of Winter or beginning of Spring. I'm nearly willing to bet that it will be sold around the same time as the PS3 -- possibly "beating" it to market. It doesn't really matter, however. In a sense, it would keep with Nintendo's promise to "release the Revolution before the competion" -- as they see only Sony as true competion. Let's face it, the X-Box only really sells in the US.

That means the US version will be out around Thanksgiving. If I recall correctly, Sony's estimate for PS3 US release will be Q4, closer to Christmas. The timing could be seen as either a boon or a bane. Myself, I make most of my money Q3 and Q4, nearly twice as much as Q1 and Q2 in fact.

*chuckle* That could explain why Spring and Summer are dry seasons for gaming. I know of no more than twelve titles being released across GBA, DS, GC, and PS2 that I will be buying and maybe an additional five that I will preview. This Fall and Winter, however... Let's just say I'll play catch up later o_O;

I hope to see a Golden Sun for the GameCube or Revolution. A DS title might be nice. It's all but guaranteed that there will be a Smash Bros game. It's doubtful that whey won't have a Mario game following the "Mario 64 tradition". Although, a release library of...over two or three thousand games sounds impressive. Wow...twenty years can build a huge library o_O

I'd like to see Namco release another Tales game. Perhaps we could see another Network Transmission game upon or sometime shortly after Revolution release.

>_<

Okay. I ramble a lot when I talk about things I like.
