Its most significant contribution to online gaming will be the ability to download Nintendo's entire catalog of NES, SNES, and Nintendo 64 console games.
Revolution, like the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, will be able to play all the games from the current-generation GameCube, as well as DVDs through its blue-LED-illuminated front-loading media drive
Nintendo announced that it has "big plans" for the Metroid franchise on Revolution and that Mario and Zelda games are already in the works.
I don't really care, but the fact it's free online and downloadable games from all the previous Nintendo systems sounds like a ****ing great Idea. Though I am still unsrue of what the **** nintendo plans to do with the control, already it looks like it is going to be my favorite system.

Nintendo has the most popular franchise names in the business; you think they'll disappoint by not having some big names ready for launch? I wouldn't be surprised if there's a Smash Bros game ready and waiting.

I'm glad with where Ninendo decided to go with the system. There's no big harddrive driving up the price of the system. It's WiFi, and, like all the other consoles, Bluetooth"ed" out for the controllers. That means the Revolution can hook up to my house's router and my wonderful DS (which everybody seems to forget is a WiFi device).

It's too bad Nintendo decided to push back production of it, so it's not the first system out of the gate. Frankly, however, I'm quite happy with that move. Nintendo impressed me at E3. It's too bad I hate the G4/IGN anti-Nintendo coverage. I'm just glad I have broadband so I can watch the Nintendo booth from live webcams ^_^

The X-Box 360 bundle (at my local SamGoody) is over $500 dollars for the system, an extra controler, and two games. The games, by themselves, are ~$120 and the controler ~$30. I've been told that that puts a discount on the system, itself, of over $75.

I'll go out and spend $300 the day the Revolution comes out for the system, two extra controllers, and two or three games. I may love my GameCube, but I'm somewhat glad I can free up some space because the Revolution is backwards compadible. The whole HiDef and WiFi thing might be interesting, but I only have a Progressive Scan TV. I'll have to stick with RGB inputs ^_^

The backwards compatibility is one thing I'm definately looking forward to. All my favorite games on one system sure sounds like one helluva deal to me. And if it's going to be that cheap, I don't mind at all. I've always been more drawn to Nintendo Games and Systems more then others.

i know this is a stupid thing to point out, but aesthetically (at least IMHO), the nintendo revolution looks like something that looks neat unlike that fancy ugly crap psystems like PS3 and XBox360, which had this concave, roundish thing going on.

i was what the feck, does a console system need to be aerodynamic. No.

i do understand that what they showed at e3 was only a prototype but it simply looked better than the other two. still i havent seent he controls or the specs really.

I heard that the controllers are element interractive. Meaning if you are near a fire or warm area in a game, the controller will heat up, as well as being in a cold area where the controller will turn cold. Thats pretty damn awesome! :)

i heard controllers are gonna have gyro sensors for tilt. backwards compatibility is gonna own too; i never bought gamecube. the other systems are gonna get crushed by nintendo's simplicity idea. they are going for the fastest, most powerful systems imaginable at a price that is unimaginable.

Revolution will be completely revealed before 2006, likely at spaceworld.

What is confirmed is that Super Smash Bros. will be available for launch with online play. If there are titles you don't like at launch, you could always buy the new Zelda for the cube and play in on your Rev... And finally, I'm excited about the controllers; I hope they are great. Watch the conference video if you don't believe any of this.

That downloadable thing for the catalogue... Sounds too amazing. If they flawlessly pull that off, I would highly consider getting this.
