Complete newbie here anyone wuna help

OK i'm a complete newbie to d2 i mean complete all i know is that the game is named diablo 2 lord of destruction i'm currently reading over all the info on arrentplatue or whatever that website is called to learn some about the game and learning in game from other people i was just wondering if anyone else could give me some websites to learn more so i wont be a complete newbie...also is money worth anything in the game like could i buy a soj(ring version) with 9m gold or is it pretty much worthless unless you buying something from a merchant?

gold is basically worthless, only good for reviving merc repairing equip an buyin potions. Theres just too much of it everywhere 4 it to be worth anything

no.... diabloii.net is not very reliable.. after all, its unofficial, some are true and some arent..

From the way i learned d2, i had to play in asia realm first (on my comp, US WEST didnt work, so i chose asia...) met some nice ppl, found out about quests, and soloed all the way... of course i made a lot of crappy chars.

To be good in d2, its all about experience not jus some sites.

And remember that you should choose d2 chars according your playing style.. for example, i dun really like sorc, i use her for mf if i only need to... i mostly like to play chars like hammerdin, trapper, zons, zealdin, kick sin, using hit and run strat.

gold is very usefull in my opinion. what if you find a item with a lot of charges and u use em all? then how are u gonna afford the repairs? are you gonna treat the item like its eth and never repair the durability cuz it costs to much? usually when i go mfing, i pick up rares and sell them for 35000 gold, i usually have more then a million gold in my stash at all times.

I agree with the usefullnes of gold...of course what is my opinion worth...I dont understand the use of a hammerdan though they are sooooo hard to hit stuff with and a zealot becomes tricky to use in hell because of the decreased life leech a beserk barbarien pretty simple setup can as far as i know kill everything in the game since it deals magic damage and you can use normal attack for physical although i hate beserkers i like frenzy barbs then of course a ice or fire bowazon can take just about anything down i dont think there is that many cold fire physical immune monsters but who wants to get ice or fire over strafe sorcs are ok they have some great protection spells my personal faveret being fire for the extreme damage they deal although it has so many synragies that it becomes pretty hard to have a decient shiver armor or maby its freezeing armor whichever adds the most defence and a energy shield and a couple points in warmth....sigh i guess there isint any perfect character...I wish that characters where multi sex i think some people including me choose barbarien necro paladan or druid over assasin or sorc simply because being male we dont want to look like a girl...

Gold is useful, im not disputing that, im just saying it has no trade value whatsoever. Learn by experience. I made 2 crappy characters before i learned how to do it right, and i was called a noob hundreds of times... you'll get there.

tru tru.. i stopped playing after christmas when i join bf, most ppl play d2, so i restart, and now addicted to it.

anyways, dont rely too much on these sites except forums, i only use bnet and dii.net for items.

I got another question this time about sorcs mostly FO sorcs since ice mastery gives +(-XX) to enimies resistances so can you hurt immunes with them or do immunes simply have like 900% resistance to that thing and pretty much impossible to get through

No immune has somewhere between 100 and 200% I believe (definitely not sure), but cold mastery can't lower the res if it is an immune, the only skills that remove immunities is the paladin aura conviction (which removes fire,lit and cold immunities) and the necro's curses (lower res for fire, lit, poison and cold and amp dmg and decrep for phys). conviction removes the immunities but the curses just lowers them, and if they are to high to get below 100 they will still be immune

I have yet another question i keep on hearing about max block but everyone says its different like "you will want max block thats 75" and "you will want max block thats 150 dex" what is the formula for max block i'm getting confused???

EDIT-I'd like to hear some idea's for Necro-sommoner runs plz they obviously take to long to get all your monsters going to do pindle-oh well not that great drops anyway...Bhaal runs might be ok but actuly killing bhaal is tricky with a necro as far as i know since there isn't any dead near...Mephisto has decient drops and i guess by the time you got to him you would have a good sommoned army up...What about pit runs? and does mf work on your sommoned monsters or do you have to directly kill a monster for mf to work...anyone have any other ideas

2xm, can you start using periods? Also, check the other forums for the formulas, etc. I mean, I spent nearly 3 months on BF, just reading stuff. Then I registered and started posting...so just read the material for a bit.

immunes have 99.999%/100 % i think... and yes cmastery weakens the resist
