What do you need to know? I'm sure if you ask your question publicly, someone will give you their input.

Well im not sure what the shops are like over there with costs and all, how much do you have to spend? Kits like that one are normally alright if its a reasonably well known brand, you kinda get what you pay for.. If you just want to get yourself sorted out with some cheap sound, then that sounds alright for you.

If you want my advice, ive always gone with Alpine and Sony, they never let me down. Along with my Alpine CDE-9843R mp3 cd that ive had for ages but theres probably newer and better ones for the same price these days. That cost me about £150 when that was out.. about $300 more or less. Expensive maybe, but it kicks.

What motor you buy just out of interest? Im sure you have my MSN, screen name is Jai..

I've purchased an 86 monte carlo, CC, recently just threw some polk 4x10s in the back, because the original ones were blown beyond belief. I also threw in a shitty cd player, because it had the stock casette player still.
Thanks for your advice, I'll try to catch you on MSN sometime, though I rarely use it

I wouldn't go with that Pyramid set up, or anything from Pyramid at all. You could easily get a low end set up from a company like Alpine or MTX on eBay for not much more. If that amp actually put out 1000 watts like it claims to, the 8 gauge wire wouldn't be anywhere near sufficient. Those subs have paper cones for christ's sake, any real bass would blow a hole in them.(like I did to my first subs, some shitty Pioneer 12s, lol)

Like i say, you get what you pay for. 150 dollars. I mean thats like £75 to me, for brand new thats f**ken cheap man. At that sort of price, youre not really gonna be that picky about quality.. just dont expect it to last as long.

If youre after second hand, then ask around local first before you go throwing cash at ebay. Ask your friends and family if they have any speakers lying about, normally get a good deal from people you know and you can always buy the wires seperate in a shop some time for im guessing $25 or something. I'd still go for a set of Alpine or Vibe or Sony X-plode badboys any day though, they lasted me this long..

If I am not mistaken you may want to upgrade your CD player so that you can adjust the bass on your subs and the bass on your speakers seperately. If you are going for speakers I recommend Kicker....they are really loud and they are VERY clear. Also with subs I would just go with 2 10 inch subs since your car is not an SUV. 12's in a midsize car is just stupidly annoying and will rattle your brains out. As for your cd player I suggest going all out and going to a custom car audio shop and have them put in a navigation/DVD player with full speakers and subs/amps at the same time. It's a fair amount of money but I guarantee you won't be dissapointed.

I was talking about brand new on eBay. I got my whole set up brand new for a little over half what it retails for. I'd personally advise against Xplods and Vibes, because in my opinion all Sony car audio is **** with the Sony name on it. However I agree with you on the Alpines, because I've got two Alpine Type S 12s in my truck and they're great. I even ran one at the wrong Ohm load for awhile(without knowing it) because the wires for the other one came undone, and there was no damage to the voice coils.

Lizardbreath, I'd never go to a car audio shop. They charge an arm and a leg for installation when you can easily do everything they do yourself. All you need is moderate electrical knowledge, and if you don't know **** you can just look online. Kicker subs are bomb though.

Good luck finding an entire setup for under 300 bux. Well Sweaty here is what I do. I get all the stuff from different places as cheap as possible, then I go to a shop and they charge me 100 bux to have it all wired and installed. I got a DVD/CD player (Sony AV with a touch screen) , 2 ten inch subs, 4 speakers, 2 tweeters (all speakers and amps kicker) and two 1,000 watt amps for just under 1100 bux installed. If you find anything close to that plz let me know.

Just don't get it installed at a place like circuit city or best buy. They will charge u per speaker, per amp, per sub...etc. It's a total ripoff and half the time those guys don't even know what they are doing.

Edit @ Sweaty: I hate wiring with a passion, though it is cheaper to do it yourself if you don't have experience I recommend just throwing 100 bux at a custom audio/sound shop and having them do it for you.

Absolutely nothing wrong with Vibes and X-plodes man. What makes you say that?

I prefer to fit it all myself so i know its done properly.. Strip out all the interior trim and route it half neatly so i get no interference, proper audio speaker cable from the music hardware store, none of this cheap **** you get with the wiring kits.. Only takes like half an hour for a decent job.

Dude I never said there is anything wrong with them...I just think kickers and clarion are better speakers.
