"Brand New Idea" for a new Madness

I thought about this when I was bored yesterday night. How about I make a "Random Madness" map. You could either to be terran, zerg, or protoss. IF you choose terran, you get a random ground unit.(done with switches) Then after 500 kills, you get a random terran hero ground unit. Then after 1000 kills, you get a random air unit. Atleast after 1500 kills, you get a random hero air unit. All this applies to the other races, too.

Here's how it would work: ( I'm probably not going to use the hyper trigger in this map )

[Key or Legend]​
Switch 1 = Terran Units​
Switch 2 = Protoss Units​
Switch 3 = Zerg Units​

-PLAYERS-
Player 1
-CONDITIONS-
Current player brings exactly one Dark Templar to 'Terran units'
-ACTIONS-
Randomize Switch 1
Preserve trigger.

Triggers to create the Terran units.

-PLAYERS-
Player 1
-CONDITIONS-
Switch 1 is set
-ACTIONS-
Create 1 terran marine for current player.
(this action is not neccessary if the hyper trigger is not in game)Wait 1000 Millieseconds
Preserve Trigger.

-PLAYERS-
Player 1
-CONDITIONS-
Switch 1 is set
-ACTIONS-
Create 1 terran ghost for current player.
Wait 1000 Millieseconds.

Etc, etc, etc I'll have to create a trigger for every terran unit, protoss unit, and zerg unit and for every human player.
Then if you don't want to get terran units anymore and you want to get protoss units You'll have to do the following:

-PLAYERS-
Player 1
-CONDITIONS-
Player 1 brings exactly 0 Dark Templar to 'Terran units'
-ACTIONS
Clear Switch 1
Preserve trigger.

-PLAYERS-
Player 1
-CONDITIONS-
Player 1 brings exactly 1 Dark Templar to 'Protoss units'
-ACTIONS-
Randomize switch 2.
Preserve trigger.

OR If I'm going to do it this way. One of the triggers above will have to match this one but with different switches.

-PLAYERS-
Player 1
-CONDITIONS-
Player 1 brings exactly 1 Dark Templar to Protoss units'
-ACTIONS-
Radomize switch 2
Clear switch 1
Clear switch 3
Preserve Trigger

So guys, tell me if you like my idea?

hmm
make 2 switches for each, that way there are 4 outcomes...
ie. switch 1 and 2 set - Marine
switch 1 set, 2 cleared - Ghost
switch 1 cleared, switch 2 set - Goliath
switch 1 and 2 cleared - Vulture
Possibly I don't know but it sounds like a good idea

I want like 5 outcomes for each race.
Terran might be, marine, firebat, siege tank, vulture, goliath.
Protoss might be zealot, dragoon, archon, probe. ( i might have to go with dt)
Zerg might be zergling, hydralisk, ultralisk, broodling, drone.

doh i have a madness map i left unfinish wiych is kind of like ur idea...... bah go for it u do better job

heres the map which i left unfinished for some other time to finish if any one wann help finish or make better ask me

Well I got the terrain down with my Random Madness map. I'm going with only 3 random units for each race because each race has totally different units. I needed to make them fair.

smart :).

make the beginning of the game cool, don't just give them the units, make it pause and show text like this:

Checking Races...
Randomizing Race Units...
Checking Randomization...
Checking Upgrades...
Final Clearance Check?

Cleared.

then have it do a loading panel:

Loading... 1%
Loading... 2%

really fast with lots of " spaces " inbetwee.

Am I doing the randomizing switches right?, cause it doesn't seem to work. It just creates all 3 units at once.

hmm, i didnt bother to read most of the posts so i dont know what u did but u said u wanted 5 outcomes so do something like:

-player-
someone
-conditions-
player ? brings at least 1 "chooser" to locatinos terren
-actions-
randomize switch "1"

-player-
whatever
-conditions-
switch "1" is set
-actions-
randomize switch "2"
randomize switch "3"

now for the unit making part:

-player-
sajdhajh
-conditions-
switch "1" is cleared
-actions-
create one marine at location whateva
preserve trriger

-player-
jsadhhj
-conditions-
switch "1" is set
switch "2" is cleared
switch "3" is cleared
-actions-
create one ghost at locations whateva
preserve trigger

im leaving out the players and actinos in next triggers cause its to much work and im lazy

make some guy
preserve trig

ok, u get 5 possible things, only one prob... you have a much higher chnce of geting the switch 1 cleared thing then the others because u have to get 3 switchs for the others and only 1 for switch 1 cleared guy

that's how u do it, not hard at all.

THEN, if you want one unit to be more common, for the final combo of set/cleared make that unit, so its the most common (tho mayb weaker than the others) unit.

All 3 units equal health. But How do I randomize the switch so It can create the 3 units in any order.

probe, zealot, probe, dragoon, dragoon, zealot, probe, probe, dragoon, zealot, probe etc.

Ok you can only get 3 units: zealot, probe, reaver. Now I want you, the player, to get those units in randomizing order. Now I have tried your idea. I only get Zealots.

Player 1 brings 1 dt to protoss units
Switch 1 is cleared
2 is cleared
---
randomize 1
randomize 2
preserve trigger


1 is set
2 is set
---
create probe
clear 1
clear 2
preserve trigger


1 is set
2 is clear

create zealot
clear 1

there's already a problem, that last trigger, when 0 dt are there clear it constantly? Why is that there, its useless.

my triggers would work perfetly i believe, i don't see hwy you would get all zealots, unless you were unlucky enuf to have it randomize itself that way the whole tim.

OMG I found out the problem. Cause I didn't think it was necessary to have 2 switches for each race unit. So I made switch 2 to be cleared if you aren't on the terran beacon. I did this before you told me to have 2 switches. Thanks for the help, but thanks for not reminding me to clear the switch even though you didn't know. Of course I will have this unprotected and post it up here.
