Just so you will shut up about this goth business, Calliope.
I will quote my friend who said it best:
I will quote my friend who said it best:
Just to let you all know, goths can have blond hair, and wear bright clothing...although usually they tend to enjoy the darker sides of things. Anyway, you guys say "gothics hate there life and are angry" it just isn't true. You know nothing but what you see. Being gothic is more of a lifestyle than anything else. Gothics have a VERY historical background. The term gothic came to place MANY years ago...and it goes way before most of todays modern trends. Today it's been watered down very badly by society...but there are people who are actually gothic. Gothics are about certain things...and being angsty isn't it.
They're about
a) Music (there is gothic music, and no its not manson)
b) Literature/ART (big part of it)
c) Religious views (usually the non-typical religions)
d) The Darkness (Embracing it, coming to terms with things like death, enjoying things like the night, midevil type things)
Yes wearing odd things like dark makeup can be part of it, but it's by far not all of it. There's allot more to it, and I'm not sure why everyone thinks angry kids in black makeup is being goth, because it isn't.
