My dear Russian, we've all heard stories of extraordinary people capable of downing shot after shot of alcohol...I base my info not on stories or the like, but on scientific research.

Possible reasons why your dad might have gotten his ass kicked by an old man:
- You actually build up tolerance to alcohol over time...the old man might've been capable of tolerating more alcohol than your dad.

-differences in body weight

-the old man might've had something to eat or drink beforehand, your dad might've been drinking on an empty stomach

-since everyone's different when it comes to alcohol tolerance, the old man's body might've been esepcially tolerant to alcohol (ie. more enzymes in his stomach capable of breaking down alcohol)

-differences in metabolic rate.

Age DOES affect alcohol tolerance. Alcohol tolerance decreases with age. I DO have a reliable source, but you won't be able to access it (www.alcoholedu.com ...its an alcohol awareness course I was forced to take for college)
