Bands with no Musical/Lyrical talent

1 step closer could easily be interpreted to be about a bitchy gf. Points of authority is just weird...so i guess that kills my "all" songs are about getting dumped. It will now be revised to "the vast majority" are aabout getting dumped.

Umm, dude. I have that cd. I must have listened to it a thousad times. I like the tunes, but the lyrics suck. They have no talent at any of their instruments.

Their lyrics are all about girls. Big whoop, see if we care about their girl problems. The ones I like are the ones that have meaning behind every word they say. You should listen to Thrice and Dashboard Confessional. They have great lyrics.

I have no problem with people who like emo, shafted, but don't be hypocritcal and diss blink for singing about girls, because thats pretty much all dashboard sings about. I don't like blink 182 because they are poseurs, but I'm fine with dashboard confessional as emo goes. As long as they sing about more than getting dumped by girls, its fine to sing about girls IMNSHO.

Story of the Year and Thrice are both awesome bands. But if you read lyrics for their songs like "Deadbolt" - Thrice, "Until the Day I Die" - SOTY, etc. They are all about death.

I don't see why people have to get all weird about lyrics about girls and death. Last time I checked the opposite sex and death are big parts of our lives. Is it so wrong for people to write songs about them?

Now for my stereotypical ramage, country, rap, and death metal sucks. Bia bia sixty nine of the floor.

Agreed. they are just plain crap, and try to be punk when the only people they fool is their fans. They both also suck terribly in concert. Blink182 cant keep a beat or stay on key, and good charlotte sounds way different.

As for quality of music, there are way to many that suck

Lyrically Cradle of Filth are really good. But I think you got to have a certain interest in what they sing about. Take for instince they have a song called "Promise of fever." It is about Saint Michael(i think i spell that wrong) casting Satan out of paradise. (its long so i wont bother posting it)
CoF write small stories based on Things dealing with Satan and all that gothic dead stuff but doesnt mean they are all about killing and hating..

you can't bring down people with lyrically talent just because of some bands talk about eatting lungs and all that gore stuff.

yes of corse, because when I say Cradle of Filth it automatically means every single band who dabbles in gothic metal. Its one thing to talk about killing people its another to talk about a fictional or non fictional subject such as the suffereing in hell and people dying in hell. Cradle of Filth, to my knowledge, has never written people being killed for the sake of gore out of no where. It is usually like some kinda of biblical or mythical story about people dying or suffering.

Anyway for that matter you are stereotyping gothism (if that's even a word). Gothism isnt all about killing, its about the darker side of things.
