Bands with no Musical/Lyrical talent

This thread is made to portray some of the bands that can't sing or right a song worth shit.

First off, all those death metal bands have niether.

Lyrically its all hate this **** that kill whatever. Voice wise, all they do is scream there problems and add some base into the background.

Good Charlotte might suck, but they can sure as hell sing better and write better lyrics then COF or any of those other death metal shit bands.

Second off, the trend of mainstream music.

I dont care what type of music it is, it seems that everything is:

You are stereotyping Death metal. Now with the singing you got me there but it isnt easy singing like that for about an hour a night with your voice not going out.

anyway lyrically Cradle of Filth are getting better with each album but their lyrics are usually long and that don't have a point and that rather tell a story. But Lamb of God has a song called 11th hour about drinking yourself to death and i find it very interesting..

well, heres my oppinion on the matter:

rating music by their lyrics is stupid. if you want good words, read poetry. Music should be rated by how it moves you, how it gives you cold chills just because it blends so nicely, and you can listen to that same song for days on end without getting bored of it, thats what makes music, not some stupid lyrics.

i listen to melodic death metal. no, its not that scream at you kill you slit your throat type of music, its the kind of music where you can take out the vocals and you can feel the classical elements within.

personally, i dont like country, punk, rap, hip-hop, or any of that stuff...i like rock, some techno, and my melodic death metal, but when i find a song that really moves me like what i said above, i dont care if its garth brooks (yes ive found myself to like a few of his), then ill enjoy it. moral of the story, lyrics are not music. singing might, but only when it truley brings out further instrumentation.

Well jd, I dont believe in your theory. I think it should have good lyrics. It can easily set a reputation on you. If you listen someone screaming about death and you might agree with them. If you listen to something more thinking on every aspect of life as good, your gonna turn out a hell of alot better.

All im saying is that death metal is all followed by the standard of killing and hate everything there is. Screaming your voice out isnt really hard seeing as there are plenty of shit head bands that do it (*Cough* Second stage ozzfest *cough)

Linkin Park has very good music, but horrible lyrics. Literally all of linkin parks songs are about getting dumped or being angry. That is stupid. This is the same in almost all of pop rock.

I have read the lyrics/listened to them of lots of bands (metal) and hardly any of them are about killing etc..they may involve death..but with a song like "Living Dead Girl" (Rob Zombie) how can it not be about death?

Hell..I hate certain types of music..like pop-punk.

I like the song called "Until the day I die" by Story of the year.

Sounds uncanny, eh?

This is why I hate people..their worst quality is the abilty to stereotype something they don't like.

no offense and all but linkin park has great lyrics. i have also noticed that there are no "getting dumped" songs but there are a couple of angry songs that are justified as in "1 stp klsr" and "points of authority". one step closer is about being oppressed by some force (nameless, you decide) and rebelling against it. and points of authority is one of my favorite songs just because it shows the underdog winning the fight "while taking pleasure in the awful things you put me through, my life my pride is broken, you live what do".
