I spent 3 years in the ARMY and basic training was fairly easy, not too hard but was an experience. I guess training is how you make it, it varies for each person. My luck I signed up and 9 months later 9/11 hits and low and behold 6 months later I was in a desert. Military is definately how you make it, just do your job, be on time and follow your AR's and you will have a decent experience. They pay for all my school, and the VA pays my medical bills for the rest of my life.

LOL, airforce is for pussies.
And "serving your country" is also PROTECTING YOUR COUNTRY.
Not invading another.
Rules of engagement differ from time to time man, you could be on "shoot if shot at" rules of engagement man.
You don't even ever have to actually use a gun.
So please, don't give me that bullshit excuse of "I'm a pacifist" or "I don't wanna get shot".
2pac once said, "A coward dies a thousand deaths, a soldier dies but once."

Man, one of my good friends is in the Navy and he had to go away for six months. It sucked.

No. I'm actually pretty selfish. I rather protect myself as apposed to working towards some supposed greater good...unless it was family or a good friend. Plus...I would agree with you that protecting your country is not invading another, but that isn't the case at all right now. Right now, our (the us)'s main focus is on Iraq..which to me, is utter crap ;).

Makes fun of my personal philosophies and wraps it up with a 2pac quote.. win.

whatever kid. I'm always a little satisfied when I hear some nationalistic shit talker going on about how he's going to "serve his country". Have fun getting shot.

I feel the same way. Why go off and die? It's not worth it.

One day it might be. It's not worth it to you, but what if they kidnapped your girlfriend? Would you do it then? Definitely something to consider when theres something you actually want thats at stake.

Watch how many people post, "But I don't have a girlfriend!"

BoT, So what if I get shot? You get a purple heart :O
It's a lot better than just sitting at home doing nothing, letting your mind rot, plus the whole 'they pay for college' thing is pretty ****ing sweet.

Uhm....seriously. Learn to ****ing argue. You know. So you don't have to resort to verbal irony after trying to support something that you supposedly care about with totally shitty reasoning.

Do you even know what a brainwash is?

How is it going to the military not letting your mind rot in any way?

I beg to differ

1..I rather sit at home than do some job our retarded president can't do on his own

and 2...just be a poor bastard. Free college ftw.

My mind doesn't rot because I sit around and do nothing all day.

Stop trying to be a ****ing badass eBully when it's totally uncalled for
I'm not.
especially when your flames aren't even that great
I'm not flaming either.
you seem to be getting pretty pissed off at this
No, I'm really not.

Now if you don't feel like taking the five seconds to google false dilemma in order to defend your personal values, that's fine with me. They're your values, not mine, so I really don't give a shit.
