I am amazed though that the Republicans were the ones who mostly voted against it. And the Democrats were for it. These results may impact your election.
For: Democratic: 140, Republican: 65, TOTAL: 205
Against: Democratic: 95, Republican: 133, TOTAL: 228
No Vote: Republican: 1, TOTAL: 1

Btw, Russian government bailed out the Russian banks and the Russian stockmarket grew 30% the next day. Whatever that tells you.
That the government bailout created an artificial stimulus that will only be temporary and in the long term will just have wasted government money and inflated the currency?

Renzo's just bashing McCain because the media tells him to.
Well, America has a strong influence on the world, including countries allied to them like Australia.

I'm confused?

Either i'm blind or there's something i don't know about. But from those figures you can see that the Republicans refused the bill. So how is it the democrats fault?

Compare it to the typical overwhelming partisanship in congressional voting and you'll see where the ambiguity is here. Plus the many angles you can take it at; is it how the head of the party wants it or how those of the party in congress want it? Is it the majority's party fault if it fails since they are the majority party? If so, is it their leaderships fault or or the voting congressmen of that party? And so forth...

That being said, unless someone is taking responsibility for killing the bailout and can show that they tried to, I couldn't care less who is at 'fault'; I'm just glad that we aren't running our economy further into the ground with some bs bailout.

So the republicans punished the country because they got their feelings hurt by a speech?

Wow.
Yeah, I read about that in the Toronto Star. Then McCain bashed Obama's leadership skills with the whole bailout.

I know it was ridiculous, but claiming that Pelosi's speech is the reason for it not passing because it hurt their feelings is not my idea of leadership.
