AlienWare, probably the creators of the absolute best gaming, or perhaps best computers ever, lol, they changed their product line.

It used to be, two types of computers only.

Area-51, and Aurora.

And they had three models each. One for 1.2/5k, one for 3k, and one for 5.5k(probably the most cutting edge computer at the time.)

But now, all they have is one model each for the Area-51 and Aurora, just the about 1.3k one, and now only one 'super computer,' ALX.

I don't think I like the change so much. With the before versions you had two different ultimate computers with different graphics and processors each.

You can buy the parts n make it yourself much cheaper.

Buying the AMD 64 Bit is mostly useless since most of the application doesnt run on it yet.

You are the only other person other than myself who have been trying to make this point...

I was at the unveiling of the Athlon 64 last summer at MML, one of the first demos while it was still being developed. I got to speak with a couple of AMD representatives and I got to learn a little more about the chips one on one. If you are running 32-bit applications on the Athlon 64, they say that you will get up to a 40% increase in preformance...which is nice and all, but the chips are still FAR too expensive for that kind of boost. As for 64-bit applications, they made a Windows XP-64 especially to demonstrate the Athlon 64 at the sneak peak I was at, but I doubt it will be released into public for quite some time, because I think that it was in further alpha stages than Windows Longhorn is.

I probably wouldn't buy an Alienware for the fact that I never play on a rig that I didn't build myself...that's just how I have been all the way back since the Pentium 133's were the shit.

Dont judge a computer on its cover.

I be happy to have a crappy case, and have a really good specs on it. A good computer is wats inside it, not wat the case look like.

I don't know, the next processor I plan to buy will be 64bit. I would really like to try out the windows 64bit(free beta for a year I think).

Alienware are crap. Not like literally...but you can buy all the parts seperate from other places, and build the computer for a lot less...something like 30% for some of the computer...All you pay for with alienware that make them so expensive is the name and the case...it's not worth it if you ask me

I agree on building your own pc to save money. I build mine, and is 4x cheaper than the comps you would buy from a store or online site. But since you can't build your own laptop....

For $2000, you can get a crap Laptop from HP or Dell. But with that, you can get a Alienware laptop for the same price and a little better with a better video card. Alienware's notebook graphics are upgradeable too (great advantage).

Yes but think about the advantages of having that before you even need it, (WC3 is only 32 bit) once things actually start using it, it might cost more. + you won't even have to go buy a new one.

^_^ 700 if you shop for months for the absolute cheapest.

For a 64-bit processor to b in every person home is goin to take awhile, mayb 2-3 yrs? its lik umm, 500-800 bucks for it now, i doubt any1 right now will buy it, especially for gaming, since no game out there is 64-bit(not sure, but i havent heard any of it exist).

On the price on it, i think it will drop once ppl start using it, n there is goin to b better ones out there. AMD may hav got the 64-bit for now, but Intel will later.
