It doesn't make eceonomic sense, for this to work, they would first have to shovel all this money out, assuming that this form of advertising would up sales enough to make people buy the product. Most likely it would just piss alot of people off and they wouldn't buy from them. Also how effective can a service be that is only visible when people are attempting to sleep or relax. I know that after a long day at school the last thing i wanna do is go outside so i can see that coke has a new flavor. they want me to buy there product, make your advertising convenient for me to look at.

For an ad to be visible from the height that most satellites are at, it would have to be at least several kilometers in length......now if cant imagine that....thats ****ING HUGE! bigger than any single structure we have here on earth (i think) anyway, wouldn't the money for building an ad of that size be better spent on building....a SHIP of that size? to actually DO something!??!!

Personally, I think ads in space would suck. It would be expensive and not very practical, and it would be annoying. It's absolutely gorgeous at night outside where I live, and I don't want some glowing advertisement blocking out all of the stars -_-;;

Futurama? Are you serious? A show on TechTV and a cartoon are your bases for your thoughts on this topic?

Lolz, considering that we arent one eyed / robotic cartoons, I dont think that applies, as macman said, to us =P.

Considering the amount of money / motivation it takes to launch a sattelite or anything moderatly large into space, I doubt too many companies will do this..

I hate ads. There on my computer, my TV (I know TV runs off of advertisiments, but theres too many these days :( ), in my school, and countless other locations. If I want to #$!@ing drink Pepsi, Ill drink Pepsi.

Exactly. That's why ads are so annoying. I'm going to buy something because it tastes the best, works the best, or is the best deal, not just because I saw some stupid ad about it. It's not like ads are actually making me change my mind about anything....

I dont think it will happen, actually. Do you know how much money it would cost to put something that big up there? Yea, I know that corporations like McDonalds and Pepsi have huge profits, but still.. you would have to construct it in space and what not. The costs would be incomprehensible.

I think its bogus, at least for now.

That would ruin staring off into space and garing into the stars. Instead you will be seeing "Eat At Bobs"

I just watched Dilbert and it was about this lol.

But uFOO said it would be just big enough to see the ad through telescopes, which in and of itself is a joke.
