21's overrated. The Americans should do what the Europeans do - give their kids 1 sip of alcohol just for the taste. Forcing them to wait until they're 18 or 21 will just drive them into making the age a big deal.

In texas, It is legal for underaged persons to drink as long as a parent is present. One exception though.... ****in Chilli's they deny that right.

I agree, it is pathetic that the United States should impose an minimum age limit on drinking. Young people should be taught responsible drinking. Kinda like sex ed... you know they are going to do it so teach them to do it safely and make responsible choices.

Americans can thank (MADD) Mothers against drunk driving for our current lame law. People will still make the decision to drink and drive no matter what -- unless they are taught responsible drinking. Yes, people may still drink and drive but we do have rather large fines and jail time to punish those who do get caught.

NTS thats pretty stupid of your government president whatever, if anything its gonna make younger kids drink even more just for the sake of it being illegal not the other way around.. Take a look at Nederlands, ganj is legal there but you dont see people staggering about 24/7 with a spliff in their hand..

haha exactly.. il have one walking down the street now and noone cares, but if you go over there where its LEGAL, youre gonna get a few dirty looks.. amsterdam is awesome, theyre alright about you sparking up in the cafes but they get a bit funny when you spark up outside in the street..

heheh president has nothing to do with it. its our congress who threatened the states to take away monies if they did not raise the age to 21. No state wants to lose those fedral monies. if they were to keep the age at 18.... well that state would have to raise taxes in order to compensate for those monies lost and no one wants to pay higher taxes.
Yes, those who are under age drink alot more. Hell I find myself just having 2-3 beers when I drink. I just love the taste of dark beer. Prosit!
