Got my desktop back!
About two weeks ago, a file I downloaded off a site had an attached file which was activated when I installed the software I wanted. So this malicious file prevented me from accessing my internet, which in turn made me have to use a laptop that I didn't have access to all the time (reason why I didn't stop posting altogether). Reason why it took two weeks? Quite simply I have a 90 gig hard drive that had 85 gigs worth of stuff. So you can imagine I did not want to loose a lot of my files (large video files, .psd's, etc) so I had to order a new hard drive (reason why I made this thread). So now I will be back without any worries of computer troubles.
