[**XHS Record-A-Bot Preview!**]
Well, I dont know about this, but yah Custom hasnt said much, but lately me and Custom have been formulating (and now working on) a new type of bot. Most people who've used bots have known them to only follow that of the script that they are written for. Almost all, with some exception, are dedicated to 1 task, e.g. Mephisto Runs, Pindle Runs, etc. This is all, good, dandy, and nice, but what if you wanted to make your own script for a bot to follow? Well, If you knew what your doing, you could, but hell, how many of you do? Thats why this new bot should be quite exciting. The "bot" or more appropriately named as a "bot-engine" will allow the player, to load the "bot-engine", much like a step by step recorder. The engine will record every step, action, and re-action to a dedicated script file. So basically, you open a game, start the recording, record what you want the bot to do, stop it, the script will be saved, and now you have a customized, working script of your very own for the engine to use whenever, however, and as much as you please. Now now, PEOPLE ARE DYING for a mephisto bot. And thus far, obviously, this bot wont support it FOR NOW. This is due to a fact of which I hope you know, and that is the map of the durance lvl. 2 changes in every game, which obviously wouldnt work with a exact step replicator. This isnt to say we wont end up implementing some special commands later tho to compensate. (Such as using a maphack to determine the specific path to the durance lvl. 3). Thus far, a true title as not been given, but development as began. The bot will consist of two parts, the engine, and the engine "runner", as put in lamens- terms. That is, there will be the module itself that will be run in the first place, inside the game to be recorded, and than a executable, stand-alone, outside the diablo-enviroment, that will launch diablo, log-in, chose the desired character, create a random game under desired settings, and run the pre-created script. (All settings, such as acct. name+ password, character selection number, game settings will be configurable through a INI file, and later a 1-time set up dialog box) I myself have nearly completed the stand-alone executable, as is the easy part. Custom has begun work on the step-recording module, and is making progress. As soon as I am satisfied with my work, I will begin collaborating more extensively on the main core of the bot with Custom. Thus far, we are excited on such a release, and we hope you are too, as we plan to make our XHS team (exclusive to Battle Forums) #1.
P.S. - We hope your looking foward to such a release, and we need your help! Give suggestions, comments, helpful-hints, ideas, title's, you name it, we could use it!
~~Plan on seeing more soon~~
