Wth? expired chars...

whenever i try to log in with an expired char, it lets me into the "waiting room" where you choose the options like join channel, games, etc...

then 2 seconds later it says lost connection to bnet and then realm down a few seconds later. is this normal?

My mule account has 4 guys that are constantly at "Expires in 11 Days." I've never permed them, mainly because I'd rather spend my time botting. Is it ok if I just keep clicking on them every day, reseting their expiration date?
