SO yeah...I reinstalled windows today, after getting annoyed from running a slow computer all the time. Well, RIGHT after installing, I went to connect to the internet, to download a few things I didn't bother burning. Shortly after...I get a pop up, saying my computer will restart in 50 seconds. WTF! The first time I connect? That's just a bit annoying, and extremely stupid.. Especially since I JUST reinstalled windows. So, I knew what it was, right when I got it. It was obvious. The MSblaster worm. I have to say, Microsoft needs to FIX the problem, not just create a little patch to get rid of it, after you have it. What a bunch of morons. Basically, anyone who get's on the internet without downloading updates from microsoft.com can get it. I'm surprised the problem isn't fixed by now. The virus spree ended, or so I thought...awhile ago. Guess not.

Anyway, just my rant .

PS: Mullets suck.

No it isn't safe. You can get it at any time, if you don't have the window's updates installed.

Yes, they have fixed it. It's called a patch.

you have to do more than patch, you have to delete it in regedit, then you run services.cms or something like that then you put the RCP thing off and then you end ms.blast so you can go online, then you patch it then you DL the norton ms.blast.exe killer and it deletes all infected files.

they patched it which is essentially fixing it i mean what do u expect the worm to do just disaper and not affect anyone anymore. but the funny thing is when i got a new comp i got infected with the virus that goes to microsoft.com and gets rid of blaster

It isn't fixed. Everytime you reinstall windows, or get a fresh copy, you are vulnerable to getting the virus.

Oh my gosh. It's fixable but not totally gone. Microsoft just can't attack all the web servers that send this out, they can't, they don't have the right.

god damn if they would release a better product (geared toward the hardcore computors, we might not be so upset.. but becuase nearly every Fricken house has windows (any version) we have to live with there crappy bugs that let the blaster worm in and what not. Every Operating system isnt perfect... but by god microsoft should try a little harder.[/rant]
