WTF battle.net

No clue what's going on here, but Today it seems I can't connect. It just says "Connecting to The faster server..."

Then it says I need to connect to the internet .

I already did multiple modem resets, and rebooted my computer, anything more I can do? (I also tried connecting to all realms)

Make sure ur router/firewall isnt blocking it, or reinstall d2.

Turned off my firewall, going to re-install now.


Edit: Crap shouldnt have tried to re-install it... D2 installed just fine, then the expansion got about 3/4 done and when it got to "talk.mpq" it kept asking me to put in the Expansion disc (which was already in).




EDIT 2: Install successful... still cant connect to Bnet

I have a 3MB/s cable connection... and it's been going on all day.

Or try deleting the BNET folder in your hkey registry file or something...

this happens to me alot...its like a temp ban cuz u either switched accounts or characters too fast... it usually ends after about 10-30 mins but other than that its prolly just d2 bein a gimp

Damn man i know what your feeling i got that same thing happening to me and i dont know what to do. If i try and reinstall ill get stuck 3/4ths through cause of a mpq file (doh!) just cuase my disk is shit. This really sucks becuase it has been 2 days and it still wont let me connect it just keeps saying after about 1 min unable to connect it pisses me off and it wont let me get on!

I found out how to fix this problem

First go start, run and open regedit. Then go under HKEY_CURRENT_USER, software, and delete the battle.net folder. Repeat the same process under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Finally if you had diablo running while you did this close it and re-open it to finally, finally get back on to battle.net. TRUST ME THIS DOES WORK I JUST FOUND OUT FROM BLIZZARD.

cool, gotta love that blizzard. do you think i can fix my problem if i have:

I press to go to bnet in diablo
it will go to checking versions
then it says unable to connect to battle.net

I am having 2 account going on, 1 is already on one is trying but lways the second one cannot get on. maybe if I stop doing double D2 it will go away from me?

And even if i DO connect, it won't let me connect to a game it just has the dark wanderer standing by a closed door for ever until it says failed to join game

Is this in open or closed battle.net

If its in open i dont know if its in closed that happens all the time to me its just a stupid thing with the closed battle.net most of the time out of 10 games i tried i would maybe get in 1.

Go to Run: regedit hkey_currentuser/software/battlenet and delete all folder there (3 i think)
