an admin comes into my thread comments something about unprotecting and decides to close the thread down:

buddy, first of all dont close down somenes thread who asked a simple question and needed answer.
If you find that people other than the creator of the thread talks about "underground" stuff then warn them not me, yeh!

furthermore, if anything i expected you to perhaps try and answer my question seen as you come in with "all that force and power". A respectful representation of the Almighty would have been handy. :rolleyes

im a regular member of other forums so its not like its a "newb getting hurt by admin" situation.
Now that you have just recognised that the forum has gained a great deal of popularity perhaps its time to lift your game a little too when it comes to administrative procedures.
Perhaps a guide as to how admins should or should not behave would be nice too.

by the way, i dont see how unprotecting a map has any "illegal" implications seen as the creator of the map doesnt get any financial revenue, nor is the map copyrighted.

thats all i had to say, ahh, and that i still would like a solution to my question, other than unprotecting or whatever.
I like the map (X hero siege extreme 2.2) but the castle is too weak to defend effectively and to proceed. Ive played the map like 20 times but never got further than the first episode ie proceed to the middle of the map!!

THATS ALL I wanted to change, dont shoot me!

If you want to change the map talk to the creator about it. If you cant talk to the creator, tough shit.

Im all for closing down your thread for a couple of reasons,

1) Hacking programs arent allowed in the warcraft forums, unprotector is one, if you have any more need to bitch about it, go read Blizzard's Terms of Service.

2) People like you are the reason we have so many Enfo's and DoTA's out there, with your no doubt, "improvements", you could have just sent an email to the creator with your feedback, as almost every loading screen has that nowadays. Im sick of seeing "ENFOS TS 4.54252342 XRTR3M3" and whatnot with people getting thier grubby hands on an unprotector and making a few little changes to better suit *THIER* playing style.

3) Frank did NOT move in with force or power, read his post again, here comes BATTLEFORUM'S strict policy, not Frank's. And Frank is not an admin, he is a moderator of war3 map development because we trust his experience and knowledge of said subject.

4) Here's a solution. Make your own map. Its more fun the editing one and it feels better when its done too. And everyone here is MORE than willing to help you with what we can. We need more different maps out there, not more different versions.

5) Call me an ass if you want but Im trying to be nice here, posting a whiny thread after another gets closed is a good way to get flamed.

I was only doing my job, and being a moderator, that job is to enforce the rules. Discussing map unrpotecting is against the rules. So, I closed the thread.

EDIT - Seeing as how you asked about Map Unprotecting again, even after I directed you towards the Map Development forum rules and were told numerous times discussion of said subject is not allowed in the Warcraft Forums, I'm closing this thread too.
