what did those of you who whatched it think? What team did you root for? Any moments you were impressed or surprised by?

For me it was surprising how Russian team sucked so much. But then i realized that all our players in the team are too old. Right now most of them were fired, fresh blood is flowing and we are prepared to own once again. But ofcourse not Brazil, Ronaldo is unbeatable.

France was the world champion from before...and for Senagal it was like their first World Cup Match in a very long time (not too sure how long)

also when Turkey made it so far....after 40 years of not being in the WC, they came 3rd..

I know, pity Korea didnt win against Germans... then again, they had no chance

I rooted for Costa Rica which is my home country. It was our second world cup but we are just growing up soccer-wise.
We won against China, tied against Turkey (third place in the world cup) and lost against the Champions, Brazil. We didn't qualify to the second round, but for our country it is just great to play the game, especially in the world cup.

It surprised me that USA got so far. They could have beat Germany, but Germany had a wall on goalie. Senegal winning against France in the first game of the world cup was a big shocker. South Korea going so far.
Argentina NOT WINNING the world cup was a big shocker too. Almost everyone was certain they were gonna beat everyone. They had star players on the field and in the bench. They had to win.
Brazil won't have the same players the next world cup, only Ronaldinho and Kaka. They don't seem destined to win Germany 2006.
