Um, will I look like a complete moron if I ask what it is? I mean, how is it going to be better then the current OS? Sounds interesting.

Yeah...at first I thought I was going to see something like it is out, and I was gonna be rather upset...I beta tested Server 2003 and I normally get Microsoft updates and first dibs to order on their stuff :( I haven't gotten anything....

The 64bit OS (LongHorn) is going to require that you get a 64bit processor and motherboard, not a whole new system. It is not out yet and you wont hear about it for awhile, but when it does come out, you will definatly know, it will be everywhere =p

There's really no need for a 64 bit system unless you plan on doing serious film work or finding Mersenne primes.

I had Longhorn, on my test computer, it was just about the same things as XP. Very minor differences, but then again, it was like 1/4 of the done version. But visually it doesnt look much different than xp.

I might be getting an athlon 64 processor when I get a new computer (hopefully this year), Will windows 64bit edition be the only one, or will there be others like this Longhorn (what is it?). I think I will wait a few weeks to a couple months for the prices on 64's to come to a little more, they are still pretty expensive.

The windows 64bit version will most likely be an addon on to XP it is planned to be released in March '05. Longhorn is a whole new OS from microsoft that is planned for release sometime in 2006.
