Do you people know why cameras are not allowed in concerts? I'm forced by my gf to go to an Usher concert tonight(for my birthday today) and on the ticket it says "No Camera's Allowed".

No, it's because it probably disturbs the mucisicians if a white flash goes off constantly. They did that at the APC concert in San Jose, and needless to say, memories > pictures/video on these. I didn't touch the ground for at least 10 songs in the pit. Lets put it that way.

I think it's the same reason that cameras aren't allowed at a lot of social events; it's distracting.

I don't see why they wouldn't let you bring in a digital camera, though.

I know for a fact flashing lights wont bother you on stage, stage lights are always ****in in ur face and bright/hot as well, so cameras wouldnt bother me. I think it's due to the fact that people will try to bring camcorders in to record the concert then distribute it illegally (even giving the video away is illegal, and so is recording it in the first place obviously). People are so uptight these days.

Very true, cameras are an integral part of a star's media coverage.

But since 90% of cameras now can record video, and chances are the concery might be recorded and sold later, means that someone can sell the entire concert video itself for a cheaper price, way before the original is done.

Other than that, stars want their popularity to rise.

So I guess it's an Usher thing.

You = Waste of flesh. Good Day.

APC doesn't want pictures because most of their songs have dimly-lit lights, or different colors. Also, they do a Search (every person entering) to see if they are carrying a camera.

It's to control the price of celebrity concert-photos being sold on eBay.
