We're here because the way that the universe was created, by some amazing chance (whether God was involved or not) the earth had the perfect conditions to support life, and somehow humans ended up here, maybe through evolution and maybe through some other method.

As for purpose in life, I think each person comes up with their own.

thats how i feel about "why" we're here.

how? well, evolution seems to make the most sense. the only problem is finding out how life can come from non living things... it had to at one point.

Scientists have conducted experiments in which organic compounds (amino acids) were formed in an otherwise inorganic environment. It's entirely possible.

i have heard that about a year ago from my biology teacher at the college.. i had that in mind when i posted, but they could only make a few of the needed amino acids needed for living things.. but yes, its possible, and its the most probable theory about what happened...
