If a title like that can't inspire activity..
Actually, the topic of this thread is map design. How many maps, if any, have you ever made? How many projects are you working on now, and what are they? What's your map making history and skill level? What are some personal things you like to do in your maps?
I've made about 30 maps ever, of ones that actually turned out playable. There were a good 40 original ones that sucked, just me figuring stuff out. Then there were some more which I lost in a computer format. Now I have a decent chunk left, and the ones in the portal are my favorites.
I have about 7 projects that I started and never finished. The 2 I'm working on the most heavily now are Cube and an InuYasha RPG, since everything on bnet with "InuYasha" in the title is extremely gay right now.
My map making started a long time ago.. I can't even remember. I was so newb when I started it wasn't funny.. I remember asking some guy "how do you make these 'use map settings' map?" and he was like "Oh it's verrry complicated".. I also remember the map I had joined, which he had made, sucked, so I know that I'm better than that bitch now I would consider my skill pretty decent, my maps have no flaws in them and are original in concept and design.
I tend to always add secrets, twists, or generally unique gameplay in my maps. I'm not sure if I have any maps that conform to a normal game type and have no secrets or twists in them, I doubt it. I don't really want to think that hard I also use death counts a lot, and a lot of locations.. I've maxed out my locations on a few maps (hence why I cut the Pipe Dream project short and named it Part 1), and on the new InuYasha RPG, I've already used 180+ locations, and all I've put in are three special abilities.. and I'm not even done with all of them. No terrain or gameplay related triggers and I'm almost out they need to make that limit higher Also, I always protect all my maps.
