Whats with trading unidentified items

I recently got a unidentified unique shako (obivously THE shako) while trading some of my uber traps claws (3os +2assassin skills, +3 wake. +1 the other fire trap, +2 dragon flight wooot!! and its normal!!). I also got an occy which was unidentified i believe... whats up with them?

Were this items duped or something? or this items have a bonus range (like +2-4 blah blah) and if the item is identified it will reduce its value because of a poor range. I just dont get it lol.

occys are always the same. shakos just vary in defence. he probably just started playing again since in .09 ppl never id'd items.

i dont think they do that much now since 1.09 quit...i think items use to be unid meaning they were legit...*shrugs*

Oh its just as simple as that... I was wondering if it was also a scam or something lol. so like everytime someone offers a unid uniq item i have to go search for the unique item type and level just to confirm... its annoying though..

If its worth something i would id it i like looking at like 139 unid uniques its awsome i used to watch my feriend drop all of his shit after a bot got done and i always like "Tulwar, Shako, etc" it ws awsome, :rolleyes

thats why in 1.09 everyone knew an item wasnt duped if it was unid. you never see unid insert item here games anymore.
