What should I do!

I was in my PJ's well pajama pants and a belly shirt outside on my step to the door of my house and this Dog comes out of no where and just sits right by me. I'm on the phone so I say hold on and look at the dogs tags and stuff. Its from the "Humane Society" meaning she has been beaten or something suchas that before. I called the place and of course they are closed. I get a leash and leash it onto one of those poles in the ground until I know what do to. I go in the house and she stands up and starts whimpering and crying and I don't know why.

She knows sit, stay, laydown etc so obviously she was taught that by someone else, but the only numbers on her collar tags are the ones to the Humane Society. I can't sit there all night until the place opens nor Do I want a huge dog in my house who will most likely tramble my little shitzu What should I do for now? =S

Leave the dog outside. It wants attention, that's all. Just play with him/her for a few minutes, make him/her happy, and then go inside.

lol, I'd kindly put the dog in the house But I'm not gonna put a huge dog that smells in my bed that I don't even know where shes been. I've fed it and gave it water and cleaned her off. And dude you don't even know me so don't even try to talk about anyone right now.

For ****'s sake bring the dog inside. If it knows basic commands then it's obviously not going to piss on your bread in the cupboard, and will make a lotta noise if it has to go outside to piss.

Your one chance to do something charitible and you pass it up. I got my dog from the MSPCA which takes in beaten, and abused dogs, and it's probably one of the most peaceful Labradores I've ever seen.

Our cat attacks him all the time and he just ignores her.

That's....very sad. I love dogs. I would take it in, and give it a place to stay for the night. Look at it this way, you are making a difference, the dog could get hit by a car if you don't take it in, poor dog. If you really like it, keep it. If not..I suppose you can always send it back to the Humane Society, although you would get rid of the dog, you might be sad to send it back there...I know I would. Just let it stay one night, in the bathroom, the garage, just somewhere..Give her a bath or spray her with perfume, heh..
