What is the best type of Sorceress?

Fire!!! Also, Melee sorc is way better then an all out magic one. Put some good armor on her and a big sword.

Cold sorc. She has Cold mastery which makes her be very effective vs all non-immune monsters, bosses included.

Well, I think Fire Sorceress is better then all because they kill instantly with Fireball mastered along with sygneries. I'm also going to get Frozen Orb and master that because I need a different skill because many monsters in Hell are immune to my Fire spells.

Yeah, but I don't understand Lightning Sorceresses. The only good thing about them is Mana Shield and Thunderstorm.

Nooo...Energy shield blows all the goats in the yard.

Chain Lightning is what they use. When equipped with the right gear, they can do ALOT of damage. For example:

My NovaNecro would put on his Lightning Gear for PK:
4Topaz Shield
4Ort Armor
Ort Blackhorns
Wizardspike
Thundergods

My necro has about 900 life.

That gear, vs FoH pallies, is basically unbeateable. Even with Conviction maxed out at 125 or 150%, my resist is still 95. But, the lightning sorc with the right gear and one good hit can easily drop my life by 400+ or more.

Cold sorc is best- Kills fast and chills+cold mastery (also good for meph runs)

Yep. Cold > Meph x303002530. Meph just loves it, too.

All you need to max out is Ice Bolt / Frozen Orb / Cold Mastery / Warmth

And, if your sorc is pure cold, I'd say put like 5 points [at least] into teleport so you will never run out of mana.

Also: On Cold Sorcs: DO NOT ADD ANY ENERGY. EVER.

lightning sorcs are friggin sick, especially if they get the higher dmg, worst part is the low dmg, which sucks.

I know cold sorcs kill meph and pindle faster, but i think fire sorcs are better in everything else...

But in the long run, Fire Sorceresses are stronger. One, because they kick ass badly. Mastered Fire Ball with mastered sygnery kills one hit in PvP. It might suck against Multi-PvM, but most people duel, don't they? And Fire Ball owns Hell Baal in about 4-8 hits. Frozen Orb loses its power in Hell Baal. And a cold Sorceress needs some mastered Lightniing Spells. (Thunderstorm, Manashield). Fire Sorceress are also good because Fire Ball splashes (hits surronding enemies). Thats my reasons,

well, ice sorcs hit a LOT more enemies, but do less dmg, so i think blizzard did a pretty good job on equaling each of the sorcs...

unless you can time meteor... then fire sorcs pwn all

Both Fire and Cold do very well.

Cold has got Frozen Orb to do the trick (no doubt about that).

But for Fire, having an Inferno Sorc with maxed Inferno and a few into Fire Mastery does wonders. We then have a true fire breathing dragon.

I've seen all 3 be effective, but for kill speed, and ease to play, I'm a big fan of Fire/Cold hybrids.

I'm currently building my first char in 1.10, a cold sorc. They get pretty ownage with blizzzard.

Where's the melee option? Other than melee, I like the pure fire sorcs with 40k meteor, though they might not be the most effective.
